LoL Worlds 2017: Cloud 9 Storm into World Championships

Cloud 9 is continuing their great run of matches to make it to the 2017 League of Legend World Championships. It comes as no surprise that the top performing team of 2016 is proving formidable foes to those hoping to qualify.

Since 2013, Cloud 9 has been making big moves in the world of eSports and this latest match is proving to be no different. They faced CLG in the game, defeated their opponents 3:1, and advanced to the 2017 World Championship as the No. 3 seed. This comes as great news for fans and bettors alike as C9 are now in with a chance to take home a very respectable chunk of the prize fund.

This impressive win comes despite recent roster changes that have resulted in US native Sneaky being the only original member of the team left. The changes appear to be paying off, however, with jungler Contractz taking over having come up through Cloud9 Challenger. In contrast, CLG has not made any roster changes during the entire season, seemingly hoping that a veteran team will be able to carry them to the win.

However, this doesn’t seem to have paid off for CNG as much as expected, as proven by Cloud 9. Despite a valiant effort, they couldn’t seem to get going. They only managed to take 1 game from C9 during the best of 5.

As for what is to come next, C9 and the other qualifying teams will need to take part in both rounds of the Play-In group stages before advancing to the knockout round in the form of playoffs. It’s safe to say that Cloud 9 have got a long way to go before they can claim the crown of the 2017 World Championships but they’re certainly off to an excellent start.
