ProphetX calls itself “America’s #1 Sports Prediction Market,” so I wanted to see what it brings to the table. In this ProphetX review, I’ll share what I found and, more importantly, whether it’s good for esports trading.

Unfortunately, I ran into one major problem… I couldn’t find a single esports market when I tested ProphetX myself, despite esports being mentioned on its App Store listing. That’s obviously not great news for you as an esports trader, but don’t write ProphetX off completely. I still found a lot to like about the platform.

How good is ProphetX for esports traders?

Let’s cut to the chase. The lack of esports markets is the single biggest issue with ProphetX. It came as a surprise because ProphetX specifically mentions esports on its App Store listing, including CS2 and League of Legends.

I did some digging to make sure I wasn’t simply missing them. I searched for CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant, but nothing appeared. I couldn’t find a dedicated esports category either.

Unlike apps like Kalshi, which cover several categories, ProphetX currently seems to be exclusively focused on traditional sports. There are plenty of markets for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, tennis, golf, and other sports, but I wouldn’t expect to find much as an esports trader.

ProphetX’s welcome offer: Trade $50 and get $75

If you still want to give ProphetX a try, you can sign up through the banner link on this page and make a qualifying trade of $50 or more to get $75 in promotional credit.

This is a pretty significant upgrade from the previous offer, which only gave you $20 in promotional credit after a qualifying $10 trade. Sure, the qualifying trade is higher now, but $75 gives you a lot more to work with.

There aren’t many strings attached to that $75 either. There are no market restrictions, so you can use the promotional credit on any of the sports that interest you most.

There are also no trading requirements on the proceeds, which is a big plus in my book. Any profits are credited to your account as real cash. Just keep in mind that you won’t get the full $75 at once. ProphetX pays it out in three installments of $25 over 14 days. Also, trades above 80% are excluded.

If you’re specifically looking for a bonus to use on esports contracts, you might want to use the latest Polymarket promo code instead.

What is ProphetX like to use?

To me, it’s pretty clear that ProphetX’s design is heavily inspired by traditional online sportsbooks.

You’ve got leagues listed down the left, games listed in the middle with separate columns for spread, moneyline, and totals, and a Quick Trade panel to the right that functions much like a bet slip.

But of course, ProphetX isn’t actually a sportsbook. It’s a prediction market where you trade event contracts, so there are still some differences to get your head around.

That’s where ProphetX’s guides and demos come in handy. You’ll find clear instructions on how to trade different markets, along with demos that walk you through the process. I think that makes ProphetX a solid option if you’re new to trading event contracts.

The ProphetX app won me over

Maybe I’m too old-school, but I’d rather do most of my trading from a laptop. I enjoy sitting down, comparing markets side by side, and having a bit more room to see what I’m doing.

But after using the ProphetX app, I’m starting to see the appeal of trading on mobile. The bottom navigation bar gives you quick access to key sections: Home, Sports, Refer a Friend, My Trades, and Menu.

The Sports tab clearly lists markets by liquidity, and tapping a price adds the contract straight to the trade panel. From there, you can enter the number of contracts you want to buy and review the price before confirming the trade.

I found it much easier to use than I expected. And don’t just take my word for it. At the time of writing, the ProphetX app has a 4.8/5 rating on the App Store, so clearly I’m not the only one who’s enjoyed using it.

ProphetX’s deposit and withdrawal options

ProphetX supports multiple payment methods: online banking via Aeropay, cryptocurrency via Zero Hash, EDGE Boost transfers, and wire transfers.

For most users, I think Aeropay is the most convenient option. You can deposit directly from your bank account with a minimum of just $10.

EDGE Boost and wire transfers are better suited to larger amounts. Wire transfers have a $1,000 minimum deposit and a $5,000 minimum withdrawal.

What stands out is the $1 million daily transfer limit with EDGE Boost. I’ve tested countless prediction markets, and it’s rare to come across limits that high. As for withdrawal speeds, all of mine were processed within 24 hours. Perfectly reasonable.

What to expect from the customer support at ProphetX

ProphetX offers a wider range of customer support options than many other prediction market platforms I’ve tested.

There are three main support methods to choose from:

  • Telephone: 570-707-7912
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Live chat: Available from 8am to 8pm ET

I needed some help updating my phone number, and I was able to get it sorted quickly through live chat. An agent responded within a minute and updated the number for me with little back and forth.

The main drawback is the limited support hours. Outside of these hours, I recommend checking the help center. It’s divided into six main sections: General, Parlays, Markets and Offerings, Account Information, Payment Information, and Responsible Trading.

Is ProphetX legit?

Yes, ProphetX is a legitimate prediction market. It’s federally regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Designated Contract Market (DCM).

I particularly like that ProphetX gives you several ways to keep your trading under control. You can set daily deposit limits, take a break from trading for a set period, or self-exclude for longer periods or permanently if needed.

At the time of writing, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New York, and Ohio appears to be the only state where you can’t use the platform. Availability can change, though, so I recommend checking that you’re eligible before signing up.

My honest thoughts after reviewing ProphetX

I’ll be straight with you. ProphetX is not the best option for esports trading because I couldn’t find a single esports market when I tested the platform.

That could change in the future, especially since ProphetX specifically mentions esports in its App Store listing, including CS2 and League of Legends.

For now, though, ProphetX seems to be focused exclusively on traditional sports, with markets covering everything from the NFL and MLB to soccer, tennis, UFC, boxing, and F1.

If you’re interested in trading those sports, I think ProphetX is well worth checking out. It’s beginner-friendly, with useful guides and demos to help you get to grips with trading event contracts.

And if you’re an experienced trader looking to open larger positions, you can also take advantage of the $1 million daily transfer limit with EDGE Boost.

Want to give it a try? Click the banner link on this page and make a qualifying trade of $50 or more to claim $75 in promotional credit.

ProphetX review FAQs

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any esports markets during my ProphetX review. I specifically searched for CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant, but nothing appeared. Rocket League was nowhere to be found either, so if that’s what you’re interested in, you should explore Rocket League prediction markets instead.

ProphetX is not a scam. It is federally regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Designated Contract Market (DCM). ProphetX also offers a range of tools to help you trade responsibly. You can set daily deposit limits, take temporary breaks, and self-exclude if needed.

Yes. You can get $75 in promotional credit when you sign up through the banner link on this page and make a qualifying trade of at least $50. What makes this offer stand out is that the promotional credit has no market restrictions. There are no trading requirements on the winnings either, so any profit you make is yours to keep.

You can use multiple payment methods at ProphetX, including online banking via Aeropay, cryptocurrency via Zero Hash, EDGE Boost transfers, and wire transfers. It’s worth noting that while cryptocurrency is a supported payment method, that doesn’t technically put ProphetX in the same category as crypto prediction markets, since it only offers sports contracts.
