For some regions, the Summer Split has just begun. In the LCP, though, Team Secret Whales has already qualified for the 2026 LoL World Championship. Worlds will only begin on October 15, but TSW’s domestic excellence throughout the year has booked them a ticket two and a half months ahead of time.

Team Secret Whales qualifies for the World Championship

Yesterday, TSW beat CTBC Flying Oyster in the LCP. In doing so, they finished the Swiss round 3-0 and ensured their participation in the Split 3 playoffs.

The LCP is a region that uses Championship Points. These are accumulated over the years based on performance for each split and play into Worlds qualification. Furthermore, unlike the other ones, they award the bulk of those points for regular season results rather than playoff placements.

With their Swiss round over, TSW scored a minimum of 136 Championship points. Deep Cross Gaming is in second place with only 61 points so far. By the end of the playoffs, they can reach a maximum of 101 points, far below the score needed to push TSW away. After them comes GAM Esports with only 39 current points.

The two finalists of the LCP Split 3 immediately qualify for Worlds. Afterwards, the third attendee is the non-qualified team with the most Championship Points. This guarantees that TSW has a spot at the World Championship no matter what happens in the playoffs.

Team Secret Whales goes 7-0 in Swiss and already qualifies for Worlds.
Team Secret Whales dominates the LCP all year long

While it may seem absurd for a team to qualify so early into the split, it makes sense with the context. First, TSW is nearing the end of their split, with only one seeding match left to play and then the playoffs.

Second, the Whales have dominated the LCP all year long. Not to mention that they’re also the only Pacific team to beat a Chinese opponent in a Bo5.

6-1 in Split 1’s round robin, won the playoffs through the upper bracket.

7-0 in Split 2’s round robin, won the playoffs through the upper bracket.

3-0 in Split 3’s Swiss stage.

TSW is 22-1 in series over the year, 52-12 in games. For all their remaining matches, they’re an extremely safe team to bet on. Keep an eye out for their odds for the seeding match between August 14 and 16, then for the quarterfinals on August 20.

Professional League of Legends midlaner Ronaldo “Ronaldo” Betea has been banned from Riot Games after an official investigation concluded he repeatedly engaged in stream sniping during his climb to the top of the competitive ladder.

The disciplinary action came just hours after the Romanian player, who currently competes for Bulldog Esports in the Northern LoL Championship (NLC), celebrated reaching the Rank 1 spot on the Europe West (EUW) solo queue ladder.

League of Legends pro Ronaldo celebrated a little too soon

Things went downhill for Ronaldo when he posted a screenshot to social media showing that he had accumulated 4,697 League Points (LP), briefly overtaking Fnatic midlaner Vladimiros “Vladi” Kourtidis to reach Rank 1 on the EUW server.

However, his flex was immediately matched with heat from the fans as Ronaldo had already faced growing allegations from fellow high-elo players and streamers, who accused him of watching opponents’ live streams to gain unfair positional awareness and target-ban their mains during Champion Select.

Following Ronaldo’s post, multiple users brought evidence of these violations directly to Drew Levin, a prominent representative from Riot Games’ competitive integrity team. Riot Games launched an internal review to analyze game logs, matchmaking history, and stream overlay evidence.

Riot Games bans Ronaldo

Riot Games’ investigation confirmed that the stream sniping allegations weren’t false, establishing that Ronaldo repeatedly violated the publisher’s player code of conduct during his ladder ascent.

Responding directly to Ronaldo’s initial post on social media, Drew Levin outlined the official sanctions imposed on the account:

Account suspension: Ronaldo’s account has been issued an immediate two-week ban.

Complete LP reset: All accumulated LP from his Rank 1 run has been stripped, resetting his rating to Master 0 LP upon the completion of his suspension.

Forfeiture of rewards: He has been stripped of all ranked rewards for the recently concluded competitive season.

Addressing the decision publicly, Levin noted that while portions of Ronaldo’s competitive results were legitimate, abusing stream sniping to gain tactical advantages fundamentally tarnishes the integrity of the ladder.

Under Riot Games’ Creator Code of Conduct, stream sniping is explicitly classified as an actionable offense that undermines fair play.

At the start of the split, Bilibili Gaming’s star top laner Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin benched himself, unhappy with his performance. In his place, Yang “Wenbo” Wen-Bo moved up from the academy roster.

Considering Bin’s impact on top lane, everybody started wondering if that would mark the end of Bilibili Gaming’s reign as the potential best team in the world. Instead, the team remains undefeated after five matches.

Wenbo, BLG’s unexpected new top laner

As poetic as it would be, Wenbo has had a relatively quiet time in the LPL. A few carry games, a few bad games, and a majority of where he simply held down the fort.

That is exactly what Bilibili Gaming needed. BLG has carries everywhere, and most importantly, Zhuo “Knight” Ding continues to have the best year of his life. With several more montage plays added to his collection while the second week of the split isn’t even over, Knight is decisively the current best mid laner in the world.

Every game, viewers ask why the opposing team didn’t ban Knight’s champion. Naturally, this question comes with every champion, as the brilliance stems from the hands piloting them.

BLG stays strong with Wenbo in 2026. Image credit: BLG

BLG’s almost-golden road

Starting 2026, while strong, BLG was expected to lose to Gen.G like every other team in the world. Then, the G2 Esports incident happened, and they wound up facing the LEC representative in the grand final instead. BLG made quick work of them and claimed their first-ever international victory.

Judging by their strength in the LPL Split 2 and the absence of Gen.G again, it looked like BLG would repeat this feat at the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational. Bilibili Gaming was the next candidate for a potential golden road.

Then, at the final hour, Hanwha Life Esports won their rematch against the LPL first seed and took the MSI title in their stead. After a disappointing showing at the Esports World Cup to follow, Bin benched himself for performance reasons. Thus, the team that could win Worlds was already collapsing.

As it turns out, they’re not. With Wenbo replacing Bin, BLG is still poised to smash the LPL and be a serious contender for the Summoner’s Cup.

Gen.G just lost to T1 0-2 in their opening match in the LCK Rounds 3-4. In 2025 and in the LCK Cup, Gen.G was expected to win against every single opponent (and they did). Now, the T1 that looked dreadful against KT Rolster just outclassed them. It looks like Gen.G’s time at the top of the world is truly over.

Gen.G lost 0-2 to T1

The two legends of the LCK faced off in week 1 of Rounds 3-4. The first round was all T1’s, as Gen.G never got to be proactive. While they shut down some of T1’s plays, they couldn’t initiate any, and T1 kept hold of the tempo the entire game. Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu even lost two Smite fights against Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun despite playing Lee Sin.

In total contrast from their earlier game against KT, this was a masterclass from T1. After a single Baron, they ended the game before 30 minutes.

On the second map, Gen.G was finally here to play. This time, they led the fights, and this time, they won them. By putting Kim “Kiin” Gi-in on Varus top and sending Joo “Duro” Min-kyu’s Shen to accompany him, they effectively recreated a lane swap to shut down Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon’s Jax.

At the same time, mid lane entirely belonged to Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon. One skirmish giving Kiin a quadra kill and dragon stacking going fine, Gen.G was in a great spot. However, T1 remained patient the whole time, in a very uncharacteristic manner for them.

Then, they picked one fight at Baron, and fully turned the game around. Minutes later, Gen.G’s Nexus fell for the 2-0.

Gen.G drops in the LCK standings

With that loss, the team continues looking worse than they used to. In 2025, they won everything. The two series that they lost all Summer were huge upsets. Gen.G’s loss at Worlds was even more of one, if not for the fact that we expect them to somehow lose at that tournament.

Starting 2026, the story was just the same again. Gen.G wins everything and nobody even looks close. Until G2 Esports beat them 3-0 at First Stand.

Now, they stand at 14-5. While objectively a good score, this puts them in a tie for third place. For Gen.G, this is their worst regular season in three years. The last time they had a win rate lower than 75% was in Spring 2023, when they finished 13-5.

Due to the LCK having four spots at the World Championship, Gen.G is at little risk of missing the qualification. Only five teams are real contenders, and it’s more likely that KT or Dplus KIA drops out. Or even T1, if we look at how they played on Wednesday rather than today.

However, KT has had a strong start to Rounds 3-4, and DK has shown incredible form since the Esports World Cup. Today, Gen.G did look like the fifth-best team in the LCK.

Singed, to shake or not to shake

When mages start replacing marksmen in the bot lane, who benefits from it the most? The tanks who die to consistent damage. Generally, Singed is most of the time already one of the best top laners and a champion that nobody picks. Now, he’s even better.

The mad scientist just runs around, too fast to be caught but too obnoxious to ignore. While he’s really hard to pick up, he’s no easier to play against, making him a very advantageous champion to learn.

Shen, the one-shot tank

Just like Singed, the ninja is also happy about seeing fewer marksmen. Shen himself is a very durable tank, but the shield his ultimate provides has more impact against mages than ADCs.

Shen has the role of a back-up engager, and of a protector. The ninja splitpushes, and in teamfights, he tanks as well as he can burst. Dusk and Dawn paired with Titanic Hydra grants him extremely strong short-term damage.

In solo queue, he’s a very versatile threat. Enemies don’t respect the ultimate, teams don’t coordinate around splitpush, and he has the damage to handle games on his own.

Briar, the farmer of monsters and champions

Briar is a basic attacker hypercarry like Master Yi or Tryndamere, except that she also has a stun. This jungler is an efficient farmer who will easily win 1v1s in the jungle, but she can also pull off successful ganks. After level 6, her global ultimate means that the enemies have to respect her potential ganks no matter where she is.

Briar’s main downside is that her W and ult make her commit to attacking. All champions can make mistakes, Briar’s will kill her. So the players of this champion are often in for a rough learning curve, until they grasp what fights they can and can’t take.

Briar is one of the best junglers on patch 26.15.
Nasus, the farmer of… just monsters, actually.

For years, Nasus was a top laner known for only being a low elo threat. According to everyone, he’s too slow, he can be denied and kited, and he doesn’t impact the game. Then, pro junglers started picking him, and now he’s suddenly the best jungler.

In the jungle, Nasus skips his rough laning phase. Instead, he can happily spend his time stacking on monsters that give him +12 each. Then, when he shows up to a lane, he deals monstrous damage out of nowhere.

Vladimir, not a vampire

When there are too many mages in the game, the meta favors two types of champions: those who can stay too far for mages, and those who go too close for mages. Belonging to the latter, the hemomancer has a button made to avoid a burst combo as well as kiting CC.

When facing the likes of Syndra or Viktor, Vladimir can dodge everything and deploy his own burst. Then, when he’s out of his pool, opposing mages don’t magically have their spells up again already. In solo queue, Vladimir acts as both a mid game monster and late game insurance.

Xerath, winning from one screen away

When mages fill the bot lane, who then belongs in mid? Still mages! Xerath belongs to the former category in the meta: a champion who outranges his fellow spellcasters.

The Archmage has the strongest artillery in the game. Xerath’s combos end up being able to take down a full health carry, and if he misses a Q, he can try again three seconds later.

Xerath is a safe pick, who doesn’t have to wonder whether he should go in or not. The answer is always no, he doesn’t need to.

Lightning never strikes twice, because the enemies will be dead after the first hit.

Seraphine, no longer a support

In 26.14 and now 26.15, the pros started picking mages in the bot lane. Paired with roaming supports, they get solo experience while being able to safely wave clear when left alone. On top of it, they overpower ADCs in 1v1s.

Of course, that strategy falls apart when the support stays in lane. Thankfully, Seraphine works in any of these situations. When left alone, she can collect the wave from another screen. Then when she’s with her support, she’s got the back-up CC and the burst to follow their engage.

Senna, technically an ADC

Who said marksmen were obsolete in 26.15? You can still play ADCs in the bot lane – so long as they have the highest range in the game and double down as enchanters.

Even though she took a hit with the nerf to Jack of all Trades, Senna is a champion who can comfortably sit back and scale in lane. Then with Statikk Shiv, she melts wave without ever being at threat. Finally, once she pairs it up with Black Cleaver, she’s bursting down any champion while outranging them all.

Thresh, the reaper of bugs

Thresh is the best support in patch 26.15 thanks to a new bug on him. Normally, his E fully empowers his next basic attack after waiting ten seconds. Instead, his attack charges over a single second.

When attacking normally, Thresh doesn’t benefit from the bug. However, if he waits for a second before each attack, he strongly increases his damage output. With that, Thresh gets to be one of the supports with the best CC and damage in LoL.

LoL tier list best supports: Thresh.
Poppy, to deny all dashes

Ever since engaging supports rose in popularity, so did Poppy. The Yordle is everything those champions fear. At first, she matches their damage in lane. Then, she can simply block their engages with her W.

Read also: How to play support in LoL

If she doesn’t, she can beat them up afterwards. Poppy’s E and Q allow her to turn a genius enemy engage into an int. As for the cherry on top, she’s also a flex pick, able to go support, jungle, or top.

Following an alleged “internal conflict”, KT Rolster brought up Park “FenRir” Kang-jun from their Challenger sister team to replace ADC Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram. Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun will take FenRir’s spot in KT Rolster Challengers, as Aiming becomes inactive.

The new ADC immediately started against T1 in week 1 of the LCK Rounds 3-4 and swept the series 2-0.

KT Rolster benches Aiming and subs in FenRir

A few hours before their opening game against T1, KT announced the following:

“This is KT Rolster. We would like to explain the background behind the call-up of FenRir. During practice, there was an internal conflict within the roster. As this had a negative impact on our team synergy, we made a team decision to make a roster change at the ADC position. KT Rolster will do our absolute best until the end of this season, so we ask for your continued support.”

FenRir then started against T1. According to KT’s coach Go “Score” Dong-bin, “We actually haven’t even had the chance to scrim with FenRir yet. That’s how suddenly everything happened.” While fans immediately began theorizing, the players or organization haven’t confirmed anything yet.

Score also added in a press conference that this wasn’t just a one-match sub, and KT might keep the new ADC for the rest of the year. “Since Round 3 has already started and the rest of the season isn’t very long, we’ll most likely stick with this roster going forward.”

KT Rolster’s official statement as they benched Aiming.
KT Rolster stomps T1 2-0

Shortly after this news, the team faced off against their Telecom rival. Clearly, the roster swap didn’t shake them much.

Game 1 was a collection of fights all around. T1 won some, KT won some others, and the game kept swinging around without either team taking a lead.

While back-and-forth games can be the result of constant outplays, this was not the case here. Instead, they made a number of mechanical misplays, and teamfights where they didn’t know whether or when to reengage or withdraw.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok missed everything on Akali when Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun did his first gank mid, causing his jungler to die. Later, Oner missed his Herald charge on the bot lane turret. In a pivotal fight, FenRir then didn’t manage to cross a wall with an Ezreal E. In the end, it was KT who took game 1.

Game 2 was different, but definitely no better. While Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong started with a triple kill, T1 spent the entire game ahead. Then as they were up, their favorite activity was throwing again.

Oner missed the follow-up Q after a Lee Sin’s ultimate, and T1 gave up two kills and then a Baron while being up 4k gold. Then, Faker stayed out of position before trying to 1v4 (he did not succeed).

KT goes 2-0 against T1 with FenRir as an emergency sub. Image credit: Riot Games

Ultimately, after a roughly equal number of mistakes from KT, they won the game while only going up in gold after the final fight. It’s worrying that T1 lost that way when facing a team that had an emergency substitute they never practiced with. After very disappointing exits at the MSI and EWC, they’re currently looking like the fifth-best LoL team in the LCK. At that rate, they would miss the World Championship.

League Classic comes to the live servers on July 29. This game mode recreates versions of LoL from around 2013, for the nostalgia of the olden and golden days. How will League Classic work? What champions are in this game mode?

What is League Classic?

League Classic is the game mode coming out with Season 3 of 2026, on July 29. In this mode, people play a version of LoL brought back to its 2012-2013 state. Old map, old champions and kits, old items, old models, old runes and masteries, influence points: everything is back to how it was at the time.

League Classic allows players to discover or rediscover AP Master Yi, global teleport Twisted Fate, 700 ult range Kassadin, Mafia Graves, and so many others. Just like champions, it will bring back Heart of Gold, Deathfire Grasp, Banner of Command, and all the items from back then.

This game mode will be available to play for the foreseeable future, and will include its own out-of-game systems. Riot wants it to feel like how it did back in the day, including with collecting content and awaiting releases.

The LoL Classic jungle: The red buff in 2013.
What patch will League Classic use?

League Classic won’t use a specific patch, but rather a combination of old elements. The basis of reference is season 3, but all champions will be brought back to their most interesting kit from beta to early 2014. Systems are mostly from 2013.

As for quality-of-life elements, they’re all kept in. Modern pings, bounty displays, tooltip clarity, all such aspects stay in their current state, as only gameplay elements need to emulate the past. As such, the game also uses the new engine for various reasons such as compatibility, security, and overall ease of use.

More champions will be added “at a relatively quick cadence”, with no further clarification. Riot already confirmed some that will join the roster soon, such as Graves, Urgot, or Mordekaiser.

The original 40 will be part of all champions in LoL Classic.
Will League Classic be permanent?

Nothing has been confirmed, but Riot wants League Classic to be permanent. The team working on it aims to create an experience that is enjoyable long-term, for months or years. However, this plan isn’t set in stone as this will depend on how the mode is received.

For every game mode, Riot can’t gauge how much it will be played. The devs make a guess and plan for it, but they need to adapt everything once they see the actual reception. If the playerbase drops the mode too quickly, then LoL Classic won’t return. On the other hand, successful game modes can stay indefinitely, as Arena and ARAM Mayhem have shown.

There is out-of-game progression to unlock as matches grant experience along with Influence Points. After a few games, runes and masteries progressively unlocked, as does a form of ranked. Then, those IPs allow for purchasing runes and other content. The goal is to keep this aspect of replayability as well.

<img decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-297272" class="size-full wp-image-297272" src="https://esportsbetting.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/lol-classic-runes.jpg" alt="What is LoL Classic? Image credit: Riot Games

Will League Classic have patches?

Classic will receive regular patches, at a rate to be announced. Players will have a say in how the game evolves, gaining a stronger voice the more actively they play.

As David “Phreak” Turley stated, the goal for patches is to keep up the game quality without ever compromising on the Classic feeling.

The game will remain slower, more decisive and more punishing. Mana costs and cooldowns will stay higher, point-and-clicks aren’t going away, money and experience won’t go up. Riot will work with the community to find how to make the mode evolve while preserving it all.

Format: Best-of-three

Betting tips: The encounter between these two teams at the Esports World Cup was a good example of how this match-up is supposed to look. Here as well, Gen.G should claim the series.

My T1 vs Gen.G pick: Under 2.5 games at 1.83 betting odds at GG.BET.

Match and teams’ analysis

By now, T1 and Gen.G have a long history. Both teams have butted heads time and time again over the years, with mixed outcomes. However, what truly matters is how it goes right now.

While in the LCK, T1 won the last two times they faced, the EWC was a different story. It was also the only one of these matches to be played on the roaming support and mage bot meta.

In their last encounter, T1 won the one “classic” game, while Gen.G came out on top in the two games where mages were played in the bot lane. In the process, they even gave a loss to Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok on his famous near-unbeatable Orianna.

T1 is even comfortable on the roaming support-mage bot against other teams, but it hasn’t cut it against Gen.G. Even with Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan attempting to pull off dedicated counter-picks, those end up not amounting to much.

Traditionally, Gen.G has been a team that plays slower and more methodically. Instead of fighting, they play the vision and positioning game, and they succeed by making it impossible for their opponents to reach objectives. Additionally, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon somehow passively generates more gold than his lane opponent by being that much better at farming and handling waves.

However, this doesn’t mean that this is the only way they can play. Clearly, they’ve been just as comfortable accepting a meta where players just want to fight all game long. Considering that T1 will not give up their ways of constantly fighting either, this doesn’t bode well for them.

League of Legends and its esports ecosystem have come a long way since the release of the game in 2009. The competition has evolved, with South Korea reigning on top for the longest part. So, who are the best League of Legends teams of all time?

The split dominance of T1 and Gen.G is all LoL Esports has been about for a while now. However, the scene hasn’t always been this way. Here are the ten best League of Legends teams of all time.

Note: The strength of a LoL team is measured compared to the rest of the competition at the time, considering that the level of play goes up each year.

1. The best League of Legends team of all time: SK Telecom T1 (2015)

SKT T1 in 2015. Image credit: Riot Games

MaRin

Bengi

Faker / Easyhoon

Bang

Wolf

kkOma

If we think about T1 today, it’s “just” that team that somehow wins over and over. In 2015, though, they were so far ahead of any competition that no other roster could compare. SKT almost had a perfect Summer split which then led to the strongest masterclass of a Worlds performance.

At Worlds 2015, SKT did not lose a single inner turret until their semifinals against Origen. Solo-killing Faker was a career-defining feat. At the same time, they had a second mid laner to expand champion pools, MaRin was consistently winning every lane, and “The Jungle Himself” Bengi was the jungler with the best macro play.

2015 SKT was the best League of Legends team of all time. While not nearly as strong, they also remained the best LoL team in 2016.

2. Gen.G (2025-2026)

Gen.G in 2026. Image credit: Riot Games

Kiin

Canyon

Chovy

Ruler

Duro

Ryu

Gen.G has never reached a Worlds final. The fact that they’re the second best LoL team of all time in spite of it is a testament to how extraordinarily strong they are the rest of the year.

Gen.G has been a top-two team in Korea each split since 2021. And every year, they get stronger. This team is a combination of the best League of Legends players of all time, while also displaying strong teamwork.

In 2025, they were so dominant that the rare series wins against them were huge upsets no matter the opponent. Once more, they somehow lost during the Worlds semifinals.

Starting 2026, Gen.G was right back to being the best, having absolute lowest odds in League of Legends betting, no matter what opponent they faced. Only at First Stand did their power wane, as they fell down to being “only among the top five in the world”.

3. SK Telecom T1 K (2013)

SKT T1 in 2013. Image credit: Riot Games

Bengi

Faker

Piglet

PoohManDu

kkOma

In 2013, Faker started playing competitively and kicked off an era that has yet to end. At a time when everyone’s level was much lower than it is now, the GOAT pulled off his legendary Zed 1v1 against Ryu.

The SKT of 2013 was a team that wasn’t afraid of diving into uncharted territory when the competition had a more conservative approach to the game. Not only did they march through Worlds 2013, SKT also launched the reign of South Korea.

4. Damwon (2020)

DWG in 2020. Image credit: Zhang Lintaol / Riot Games

Nugiri

Canyon

ShowMaker

Ghost

BeryL

Zefa and Daeny

In 2019, Damwon was a strong team that had the misfortune of running into an overpowered G2 Esports. Then in Summer 2020, they turned into one of the best squads the LCK has known. Between ShowMaker’s creativity and Canyon being a candidate for best jungler of all time, DWG was on another level. Six years later, those two players are still among the best in the world.

Damwon easily claimed their crown, and revenge against G2 in the process.

5. Samsung White (2014)

SSW in 2014. Image credit: Riot Games

Looper

Dandy

PawN

imp

Mata

Samsung White’s tenure at the top was short. In the LCK, they were overshadowed by other powerhouses. With SKT, Samsung Blue, Najin White Shield, and KT Rolster Arrows, SSW were consistently second or third best throughout the year.

However, they were second to third best when the LCK was at its strongest. At Worlds 2014, they finally rose above their rivals and crushed all competition to finish as champions with a 15-2 scoreline.

6. Invictus Gaming (2018)

iG in 2018. Image credit: Riot Games

Duke / TheShy

Ning

Rookie

JackeyLove

Baolan

Kim

Invictus Gaming birthed a new era of League of Legends. Until 2018, one could always bet on a LCK team to win the World Championship. In fact, only Korean teams reached the Worlds finals between 2015 and 2017.

At Worlds 2018 though, all LCK representatives got eliminated before the semifinals. For once, the LCK was not among the top League of Legends teams.

Invictus Gaming convincingly took the spot they left vacant. With some of the best players in all three carry roles, IG crushed the hopes of the West just as they did those of South Korea.

7. T1 (2022-2025)

T1 in 2024.
Faker

Gumayusi

Keria

Bengi -> kkOma and Tom (2023)

T1 is an enigma. In 2022, they were monsters and concluded the first and only perfect (long) split in the LCK, before finishing in second place at MSI and Worlds. Since then, they’ve always looked shaky and haven’t won a single split in the LCK, with Gen.G taking their throne instead.

All of that, only to systematically win the World Championship. Three times in a row, more than any other team. T1 is simply better than the rest at Worlds, to the point that everyone now expects them to repeat the feat no matter how bad the year has looked.

8. G2 Esports (2019)

G2 in 2019. Image credit: Colin Young-Wolff / Riot Games

Jankos

Caps

Perkz

MikyX

Grabbz and Duffman

After Fnatic’s second place in 2018, G2 grabbed their torch (and their mid laner) and carried it to greater heights.

2019 G2 is the best LoL team of all time to come from the West. This roster rejected the Korean metagame to instead trust in their own. G2 taught the rest of the West that they didn’t need to stay one step behind the East if they stuck to their own playstyle.

Furthermore, they had the mechanical skill to make every pick function. While they too failed to win Worlds, G2 is the first and only Western team to claim an MSI trophy, as well as the first Western team to beat SKT T1 in a series – and they did it twice. It took until 2026 for another Western team to beat them too.

9. Taipei Assassins (2012)

TPA in 2012. Image credit: Riot Games

Stanley

Lilballz

Toyz

Bebe

MiSTakE

As Korea’s superior level started becoming obvious in 2012, Taipei Assassins put a sudden halt to their expected triumph. While South-East Asia is always seen as not quite a major region, TPA was a beast of their own for the time.

Toyz’s proficiency on control mages beat that of Korea when they were the strongest mid lane picks. The side lanes pulled their weight just as well, and in 2012, it was the underdogs who crushed the best teams the rest of the world had to offer.

10. Fnatic (2015)

Fnatic in 2015. Image credit: Riot Games

Reignover

Febiven

Rekkles

YellOwStaR

Deilor

Last but not least among the best teams is Fnatic. FNC completed the first ever perfect split in Summer 2015.

The then-kings of Europe excelled at lane swaps, had great teamfighting and communication, fearless solo laners, a smart jungler and support, and the best ADC in the West, mastering a wealth of meta and unique picks in the process.

Fnatic’s glory came to a crash at Worlds 2015 Semifinals, and this team fell from grace from then on. It is however worth asking the question of what could have been. From quarterfinals onwards, a bug caused Gragas to be disabled for the rest of the tournament while being one of their best picks.

Regardless, they would have had to go up against the best team of all time in 2015 SKT. What did happen, though, was that Fnatic gave Europe hope.

Even with the controversy about ridiculously expensive Faker skins, there are many affordable skins for the player in the game.

Consequently, Faker fans will need to do quite a bit of collecting if they want a full set of his signature skins.

How many skins does Faker have in League of Legends?

With the 2025 T1 World Champion skins out, Faker officially has 10 skins in League of Legends, and are assumed to contribute significantly to his net worth.

1. SKT T1 Zed – Season 3 World Championship

Zed is the one in the middle with the twin blades. Image Source: Riot Games

Faker skins started coming out with SKT T1’s World Championship in League of Legends Season 3. The first Faker skin was for Zed, a broken champion at the time who helped Faker secure dominance in the mid lane. Despite having excellent splash art, this Zed skin is considered to be the worst Faker skin by many fans. It is, however, one of the only skins that Faker has ever used himself. At the 2014 All-Stars, all of SKT picked their namesake skins against Fnatic. And for once, Faker was no exception.

2. SKT T1 Ryze – Season 5 World Championship

Ryze is the one in front with the blue orb. Image Source: Riot Games

The second skin is for Ryze. Even with plenty of champion reworks, Faker seems to love this AP champion. In the 2015 Championship, Faker made sure to be known as the best Ryze player in the world. He still holds an impressive 67–37 record and 4.0 KDA with Ryze.

3. SKT T1 Syndra – Season 6 World Championship

Faker’s third skin for Syndra comes from the Season 6 World Championship. The skin came as a surprise as Faker only used the champion twice in 2016’s World Championship. He has also gone five years without playing Syndra, in 2021-2025.

4. Immortalized Legend Ahri – Hall of Legends

The Immortalized Legend Ahri is the first solo Faker skin not attached to a team. The skin celebrates the legend of the game by giving him a separate skin as part of the Hall of Legends. Faker is the first Hall of Legends player to be given this honor, though more are sure to come, starting with Uzi. And after 10 years of wanting one, Faker was finally awarded an Ahri skin.

5. Risen Legend LeBlanc – Hall of Legends

The cheapest skin in the collection, Risen Legend LeBlanc is a secondary and more affordable option among Faker’s Hall of Legends skins. Fans unwilling to spend big bucks on the much more expensive Ahri skin can get LeBlanc instead. Faker’s LeBlanc is special in League history as he remained nearly undefeated with the champion for the first three seasons.

The Risen Legend Ahri skin is cheaper and follows the same theme as the Risen Legend LeBlanc. Faker has played Ahri to victory plenty of times and is considered one of the best players in the world with the champion.

7. T1 Orianna – Season 13 World Championship

Orianna is in the middle.
T1 Orianna comes from the Season 13 World Championship. Faker announced his pick at the end of 2023 and said that he went with Oriana because she would be best. He initially considered Ahri, and it’s possible that he changed his mind by being told he would get a skin on her with the Hall of Legends. Faker’s played champions count is already greater than 40, including the likes of Smolder, Naafiri, and old champions like Taric and Udyr.

8. T1 Yone – Season 14 World Championship

For his victory in the 2024 World Championship, Faker picked Yone for his champion skin. This is the first attack-damage champion to receive a Faker skin since Zed all the way back following Season 3. The five-time champion picked this skin after making a poll with all available options, and letting his fans vote for which one they would like the most.

9. Prestige T1 Sylas – Season 14 World Championship

In 2024, Faker received a Prestige skin for Sylas alongside his Yone skin, as his reward for being the 2024 World Finals MVP. Like Yone, the Faker Sylas skin was chosen due to being the second voted pick among Faker’s fans.

10. T1 Galio – Season 15 World Championship

The most recent skin that Faker received is T1 Galio. As one of his signature picks, the colossus finally found his spot inside the GOAT’s skin portfolio. Thus, after not receiving a World Champion skin for 6 years, Faker received four new ones in the last couple of years.

This means that despite having ten skins to his name, and seven T1 Faker skins, Faker still doesn’t have a skin on Azir. Even when the Emperor of the Sands is his most played champion by a mile. The SKT T1 Azir skin from 2015 was made in honor of Easyhoon, Faker’s partner in mid lane and now coach.

Despite all of the many hours of practice and years of competition Faker has put into competitive League of Legends, the legendary player – widely regarded as one of the best LoL players of all time – is still going strong and shows few signs of slowing.

As long as T1 remains competitive at the game’s top pro level, Faker fans may well continue to receive more commemorative skin dedicated to their favorite player.
