Weirdest Worlds stories
Who remembers the Azubu Frost screen-sniping controversy at Worlds 2012?
Frost was caught looking at the spectator screen and using information from the minimap. Riot fined them $30,000, but didn't DQ them or replay the match.
Other players from TSM, WE and iG were also caught looking and received warnings.
Imagine this happening at Worlds today. What do you think Riot would do?

The LCS promotion series in 2025 had something similar actually! It was played offline and had tons of very long pauses, to the point where some matches had to be rescheduled. One played tried to cheat by watching the VOD of his own game during one of the pauses, and he was caught and immediately banned from pro play.
Thankfully this sort of stuff can't be done at Worlds nowadays, Riot's improved a bit in terms of making the arenas not allow for that sort of stuff.
