CS2 update brings Inferno changes, adds sexy new skins to armory

Counter-Strike 2 has shaken up the armory and shipped big changes alongside some key changes to Inferno and Train.

Operations may or may not be gone from Counter-Strike at this point, but the armory is giving players plenty of cause to play the game. That’s because the faux battle pass is offering players the opportunity to earn not one, but two different AWP skins through the Train 2025 Collection and the new Fever Case.

It’s not just cosmetic changes though, as Valve also confirmed some “spring cleaning” for two of its active duty maps.

CS2 armory update adds two new covert rare AWPs, new limited-edition gun

Counter-Strike 2’s armory underwent a major shakeup with the addition of the Train 2025 Collection and the new Fever Case.

The Train 2025 Collection is a new set of weapons with a single “red” covert weapon; the LongDog AWP. It also has two potentially pricy classified guns in the Latte Rush MP9 and Hellish M4A4. Each pull from the Train 2025 Collection costs two Armory Pass stars, and players do not need to use a key to get a weapon.

However, players do need a key to open up the new Fever Case. The case adds 17 new skins in total, including two covert rares. The Bad Trip FAMAS has a strikingly elaborate design, but the Printstream AWP will likely be the priciest gun of the bunch. Beneath those two rifles are three more classified skins; the KO Factory UMP-45, Searing Rage AK-47, and Shinobu Glock-18.

Finally, the Heat Treated Desert Eagle is officially gone from the Armory and likely gone for good. Taking its place is a new Solitude XM1014.

Rather than having a dynamic case hardening finish, the Solitude XM1014 is effectively five different skins in one.

Inferno gets significant changes in new Counter-Strike 2 update

Inferno and Train were both shaken up in the latest CS2 update, with Inferno in particular getting some big changes.

Many of these changes are visual in nature, with textures on walls and props being adjusted. This is particularly noticeable around Pit and the B bombsite. There were also smaller adjustments like moving some of the props on the stairway to jump into balcony.

However, the biggest change is the new banana. The always-contentious path to the B site has been widened considerably “to more closely match the size of the CSGO version.” Players who have spent any length of time on the Counter-Strike 2 version of the map, however, will feel like it’s massive.

Train was also given a number of cosmetic changes, with props being removed and textures being changed. There were a few notable changes around connector. The see-through walls have been changed such that everything is now opaque. Similar changes were also made in ivy.
