Gen.G finishing the LCK 2026 Season in first place is a surprise. In 2025, they had that placement because they were the best team in the world (and in the world) by a long shot. This year, they’re here because the other teams fell back below them. Gen.G is not unbeatable and nowhere near it.

In their recent match against T1, Gen.G was showing very exploitable weaknesses. In the end, T1 lost as a combination of making a number of misplays of their own and their opponents pulling off clutch plays. However, Gen.G did find themselves in dangerous situations that prove that they aren’t back to their 2025 form.

Since the start of Rounds 1-2, the head-to-head between these two teams is at 3-1 in favor of DK. This Summer, Dplus KIA took them down both at the Esports World Cup and regionally in Round 3.
