Falcons, Aurora, Virtus.pro, FURIA, G2, and Astralis have accepted invites for FISSURE Playground 2, a $1.25 million offline CS2 tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.

FISSURE Playground 2 will kick off on September 12, and the group stage is set to finalize on September 17. The playoffs will run from September 19 to 21.

Falcons, who boast an international powerhouse spearheaded by Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, and Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin, should be a great boost towards selling more tickets. As of this writing, FISSURE has filled approximately 50% of the capacity of the Belgrade Arena.

While FISSURE Playground 2 has already secured the attendance of some of the top CS2 players in the world, it remains unclear whether heavy hitters like Vitality, Spirit, The MongolZ, and MOUZ will play at this event or sit out. Given that the Serbian tournament runs shortly after the BLAST London Finals and at the same time as StarLadder StarSeries Budapest, a lot of teams will have to pick their fights.

There are 10 more invites up for grabs, based on the Global Valve Regional Standings (VRS), until the Serbian tournament kicks off.

FISSURE Playground 2 format and prize pool breakdown

The 16 teams will battle through a Swiss system format group phase, which means that they’ll need three victories to lock in the playoffs, or lose three to be knocked out. All these matches will be best-of-three series, and the top eight will advance to the playoffs.

As for the playoffs, FISSURE will run a traditional single-elimination bracket. While the quarterfinals and semifinals will be best-of-three series, the grand finals will be a best-of-five.

Even though the tournament offers a $1.25 million prize pool, that amount is split between organizations and players. The orgs will get a larger slice, as FISSURE will give them $750,000 in incentives.

Here’s how the $500,000 players’ prize pool will be distributed among FISSURE Playground 2 participants:

  • 1st: $200,000
  • 2nd: $100,000
  • 3rd-4th: $40,000
  • 5th-8th: $17,500
  • 9th-11th: $10,000
  • 12th-14th: $5,000
  • 15th-16th: $2,500
