Going into this match, both teams have been on quite different journeys in the VCT 2026 season. Evil Geniuses failed to qualify for VALORANT Masters Santiago after losing to 100 Thieves in the lower bracket.

FURIA, on the other hand, went on an unbeaten run during VCT Americas Kickoff 2026. This run helped them secure the first seed spot at VALORANT Masters Santiago. Even with this advantage, FURIA lost to both Paper Rex and BBL Esports in two incredibly close matches.

In the first week of VCT Americas Stage 1 2026, FURIA came out all guns blazing and defeated the reigning world champions, NRG Esports, 2-0.

At the same time, Evil Geniuses lost to 100 Thieves for the second time this season with a 2-0 scoreline. Currently, FURIA is still undefeated within the VCT Americas.

One player who has been a major reason for this is Torogul “Alym” Baidyldaev, the primary duelist of FURIA. In the competition, he has the highest ACS by a player at 327, due to getting 24 kills on the map of Pearl against NRG Esports.

The 2026 FURIA team has made many doubters into believers with their undereated run. Now it is on the team to be able to continue this run of form in a long league structure competition.

If we take a look at Evil Geniuses, they have some stat points that we must highlight. In the ongoing season, they have a 62.5% win rate on Abyss.

Another key point to note is that if Evil Geniuses can stall a team from planting in the first 20 seconds of said round, they have a 54% chance to win the round. With FURIA’s high-octane playstyle, this will be quite tough but interesting to see if EG can counter it.

We believe that this match might go to three maps with FURIA taking the eventual win. The only reason that we feel Evil Geniuses can win a map is due to the defensive liabilities we have seen by FURIA in the past.

Thus, our prediction for this series is 2-1 to FURIA.
