Genshin Impact players can link their game account with Discord to make connecting with friends easier, and they’ll also get some in-game goodies.

Genshin Impact is one of the biggest gacha games, with over 50 million players logging in every month. The 2020 release is still expanding with new regions and characters frequently arriving, prompted new players to jump into Teyvat for the first time. HoYoverse now lets players link their in-game accounts with Discord to make connecting with friends easier. While the main reason for this feature is to make co-op play more convenient, another motive is the in-game reward for linking both accounts.

How to link a Genshin Impact account with Discord

The official HoYoverse website has a page that lets players link their Genshin Impact account with their Discord account. 

Fortunately, the entire process is fairly streamlined as players only have to follow the steps given below to link both accounts:

1. Go to the official HoYoverse Discord linking website
2. Log in to a Genshin Impact account
3. Log in to a Discord account
4. Select the Link Account option in the center of the screen

A pop-up will confirm that the linking between accounts is successful. Players can also unlink the two accounts by pressing the small unlink button on the same webpage to change to a Genshin Impact account that isn’t already linked with a Discord account. However, players can only change the linked account once per month.

What are the benefits of linking Genshin Impact and Discord accounts?

In addition to making co-op easier, linking Genshin Impact and Discord accounts gives players an instant reward of 30 Primogems.

After linking the two accounts, players can interact with the big Claim Rewards button in the center of the screen to receive an in-game mail with 30 Primogems.

In addition to rewards, linking accounts displays real-time game information in Discord while playing the game. This information includes the player’s nickname, adventure rank, game server, and online duration. The website states that future updates may consist of more game data.

Players can also invite others through Discord if they’ve linked their accounts, making playing with friends easier. However, as of now, players can’t showcase their Genshin Impact account on their Discord profile like they can with other connections like Spotify and League of Legends.
