Kick partners can now multistream – Here’s why and how

Kick is making some aggressive move to shore up its roster of content creators by introducing new multistreaming opportunities for partners.

Attracting users to a social media platform is a major challenge unto itself, but arguably the most important challenge is attracting content creators. Regular users don’t just go to YouTube or Twitch for the sake of it, after all. They’re going to see what their favorite personalities are up to or to look up an official channel that happens to be there.

Twitch has largely thrown open the doors on content creators streaming simultaneously across any platform they want. Kick has now done the same with its partners, something that will likely result in more prominent names trying out the platform.

Kick partners can now multistream on Twitch, YouTube, or anywhere else

Partnered Kick streamers can now broadcast simultaneously across multiple platforms. This allows many of the biggest names on Kick to stream their content on other platforms, while also incentivizing established names on Twitch and YouTube to also bring their content to Kick.

Kick has taken a unique approach to bringing aboard big-name talent. While it’s primarily known for bringing in banned Twitch streamers with big followings, its splashiest signings have been streamers like Felix “xQc” Lengyell and Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa. Unlike Microsoft’s defunct streaming platform Mixer, which famously signed Tyler “Ninja” Blevins to an exclusive deal, xQc and Amouranth were signed to non-exclusive contracts that allowed them to juggle streaming on both Kick and Twitch.

This also comes at an apparent time of transition for Kick. The platform hasn’t been tendering eye-popping contracts in some time. Instead, it’s seemingly losing talent with xQc stating on-air that his contract with Kick is winding down. Even the likes of Adin Ross publicly beefed with the platform and actively sought a return to Twitch, which he eventually got.

While this change will allow more streamers who focus on other platforms to become partnered on Kick, it could be more of an effort to retain the big names it got from Twitch and YouTube who might otherwise leave.

How to multistream on Kick

Streamers who want to simultaneously broadcast on Kick and other platforms can do so through their preferred livestreaming software. Many tools have either built-in features or plugins that let content creators have multiple outputs, or output the same broadcast across multiple platforms.
