Kyedae may be retiring from streaming for good

Twitch streamer Kyedae Shymko recently shared a major update about her streaming career and her potentially retiring, and the news has left fans shocked and emotional.

Known for her popular Valorant streams, Kyedae has accumulated over 3 million followers on Twitch and has even attracted big-money exclusive streaming offers. With an almost five-year-long career in content creation, Kyedae has become a big name both in streaming and in the competitive Valorant community. However, she may now be taking a step back for good.

In her latest Twitch stream, Kyedae hinted at a potential retirement, at one point saying outright that she’s done with streaming.

Is Kyedae retiring from streaming?

Kyedae has said live on stream that she will be stepping away from full-time streaming, but that fans could still expect her to occasionally go live on Twitch without a set streaming schedule.

During an April 12 Twitch broadcast, Kyedae said that she’s had a “one foot out” for quite some time now and would like to take a step back from streaming. She ended the stream abruptly after announcing that she may not be back for a very long time. She added that she’s now done with streaming, and will only go live “every once in a while.”

“I probably won’t be back to streaming for a while. If you do see me, it’ll just be randomly, every once in a while,” Kyaedae said. “But yeah, I’m kind of done with streaming. Bye guys.”

Since this announcement wasn’t followed by any formal statement, fans are left with nothing but assumptions. Some claim she’s going to pursue a career in professional competitive Valorant play, while others still wonder if her recent health situation played a part in the decision to potentially retire.

Kyedae was diagnosed with leukemia in early 2023 and underwent six months of chemotherapy before recovering by September of that year. In February 2025, she was once again rushed to the hospital when doctors diagnosed her with an ovarian endometrioma. Throughout these health concerns, Kyedae has managed to keep up with her new streaming schedule and has even participated in Valorant events.

It’s possible that the streamer is stepping away for good this time, if her statement is anything to go by. But her loyal fans are still waiting for a formal statement from Kyedae to confirm.
