LCS Summer Split playoffs betting preview: Odds and favorites

The LCS Summer Split 2026 playoffs will start on September 12. The six best teams from North America will compete over the region’s three spots at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship, starting October 15.

The LCS Summer Split playoffs will run across four weeks. LYON heads into the bracket as the clear favorite, followed by Team Liquid and Cloud9. Will another team manage to upset the top three?

The LCS Summer 2026 playoffs teams (with regular season wins-losses) are:

• 2. Team Liquid (6-1)
• 3. Cloud9 (5-2)
• 4. Sentinels (4-3)
• 5. FlyQuest (3-4)
• 6. Shopify Rebellion (3-4)

Playoffs schedule and first matches

• September 12: Round 1 upper bracket match 1 (Cloud9 vs Shopify Rebellion)
• September 13: Round 1 upper bracket match 2 (Sentinels vs FlyQuest)
• September 18: Round 1 lower bracket
• September 19: Round 2 upper bracket match 1
• September 20: Round 2 upper bracket match 2
• September 25: Round 2 lower bracket
• September 26: Round 3 lower bracket
• September 27: Upper final
• October 3: Lower final
• October 4: Grand final

All matches start at 4pm EST / 10pm CEST.

Playoffs format

• The LCS Summer Split playoffs is a double-elimination bracket among the remaining six teams.
• The top two teams start in round two of the upper bracket, the remaining four in round 1.
• All matches are Best of 5s.
• The lower final and grand final will take place in the Gas South Arena, in Atlanta, Georgia. The regular Riot studio in Los Angeles will host all other LCS playoff matches.

The top three will represent North America at the League of Legends 2026 World Championship, starting October 25 in Los Angeles. The fourth and fifth places will instead qualify for the Demacia Cup Global Invitational 2026.

LCS Summer Split playoffs: Who are the favorites?

LYON is the obvious favorite to win the LCS Summer Split playoffs. In week 4, their loss to Sentinels begged the question of whether they could actually stand up to Team Liquid and Cloud9. However, they were still playing without Kacper “Inspired” Słoma at the time.

When he returned, the difference was huge. LYON still hasn’t lost a single game with Inspired playing for the team, and that’s in spite of the rust he should have had upon coming back.

The LCS champions beat Cloud9 with only one game looking remotely competitive. Then, LYON crushed Team Liquid without giving them a chance. As for their final match against Disguised, it was a stomp for the records. Almost winning in 17 minutes, finishing with a 17k gold lead at 24 minutes, all the while neither team took a single drake.

LYON is far ahead of the competition, but do the other teams have a chance at pulling an upset? Realistically, no. Team Liquid didn’t even get close and they beat every other team. In fact, TLAW only dropped a single game in their other six matches.

Given their record, Team Liquid should be the runner-up of the tournament. Most likely, they’ll meet LYON in the upper final, they’ll lose, and they’ll come back to lose again in the grand final. Which leaves one last team for the third seed.

Can Cloud9 qualify for Worlds?

C9 is the only logical candidate to take NA’s third slot, given how well they played at the end of the LCS Summer Split. C9 is above the other three teams, and none of them looks good enough to be NA’s third seed.

The only flaw in this entire situation is Cloud9’s record in playoffs. Despite very strong regular seasons, C9 has not managed to qualify for internationals one single time since 2023. Between 2024 and 2026, Cloud9 is 8-2 in non-qualifying playoff series, and 0-10 in series that would get them to the international.

This has kept happening even during C9’s strongest regular seasons. This Summer though, they’ve replaced their bot laner and mid laner in the hopes of changing the situation. Only time will tell whether this will work out.

Sentinels, FlyQuest, and Shopify Rebellion all have what it takes to beat them if they’re slacking. The top three teams are favored against each of them, but they could catch and eliminate C9 once they drop to the lower bracket.
