The LCS 2026 Summer Split kicks off with a match-up between LYON and FlyQuest, two top half teams.
LYON should be clear favorites, but they’re going to be playing without their MVP jungler for a few weeks. Can FLY seize the moment while the odds favor them the most?

LYON vs FlyQuest match analysis
At any other time, LYON should have had a heavy advantage in this match-up. Even though they lost in Spring, they should still win it 80% of the time.
Right now, though, FlyQuest is heavily favored to win this game in the LCS Summer Split 2026. First, the major issue is Inspired’s absence. The jungler is LYON’s shotcaller who dictates how the game goes and how the team should play. It’s a known fact that he’s the main voice behind everything here. Unavoidably, LYON will be much less coordinated without him.
Second, they’re instead playing with a jungler who wasn’t even with them last week. A jungler defines how the team plays, even more so in LYON’s case who based their identity around theirs. Against FlyQuest, they will go with game plans that aren’t grounded in practice.
Lastly, LYON hasn’t had a break since the Spring Split. The Spring playoffs made way for the bootcamp, then MSI, then EWC right after, and the team came back home at the start of the week. The pro play meta is currently in a state where pros would need to sit back to re-evaluate it, and LYON didn’t get time for that.
For FlyQuest, it’s the opposite. With no international tournament, they’ve had a month and a half to rest, then analyze and prepare.
To make matters worse, FLY heavily plays through their jungler. Johnson “Gryffinn” Le was one of the rising stars in Spring, capable of both aggression and whipping out great counterpicks. Neither him nor FLY will let a shaky team get away with it.
