The tournament so far (Main stage day 2)

After an intense first day in the play-ins, we had the top eight contenders clashing in the upper bracket quarterfinals, with big names like 100 Thieves going down first. This is how the day played out.

Upper bracket quarterfinals

  • Natus Vincere vs 100 Thieves:
    • NAVI lived up to their favorite status with a dominant 2-0 sweep, sending 100 Thieves straight to the Lower Bracket. Throughout the games, NAVI remained calm and collected, and adapted to the shifting tides of the round quickly enough that 100 Thieves couldn’t capitalize on any opening.
    • In the Museum of Contemplation map, NAVI gave a flawless performance. RAAJARO and TRQSTME of NAVI assisted their teammates by blocking more than 93,000 damage.

  • Liquid Citadel vs RAD:
    • Liquid Citadel proved their raw firepower, holding off a fiery effort from RAD to secure a 2-1 victory. In Yggdrasill Path, ENERGY became the top fragger with an insane 45 kills and over 32,000 damage points.
  • Swamp Gaming vs OUG:
    • Swamp Gaming caught OUG completely off guard, delivering a commanding 2-0 upset over the Chinese region heavyweights. On the Midtown map, DAES and SCATTERGENGI became the real showstoppers with 36 and 35 kills each.

Lower bracket round 1

  • 100 Thieves vs Gen.G Esports: Gen.G bounced back in style, knocking 100 Thieves out of the tournament with a convincing 3-1 elimination victory. On Celestial Husk, DUEP gave a dominating performance with 24 kills, followed by BOBØ and FMCL with 19 and 23 kills each.
  • RAD vs OUG: RAD kept their tournament run alive by sweeping OUG 3-0, sending the regional favorites packing early. On the Central Park map in the lower bracket quarterfinal, CRAZYKITTY and SMASHNEZZ dominated on attack by delivering intense 35 and 34 elimination streaks, respectively.

What’s expected next: Day 3 matchups

NAVI enter as favorites behind Fate’s elite support play, though VP’s disciplined macro makes them a dangerous threat.

For Liquid Citadel vs Swamp Gaming, Liquid Citadel are favored on sheer firepower led by Cooper, but Swamp Gaming’s huge momentum from sweeping OUG makes them a real threat.

In the lower bracket quarterfinals, Gen.G Esports face off against RAD. Gen.G are expected to hold the edge with their mechanical talent after eliminating 100T, though RAD carry hot momentum from their 3-0 sweep of OUG.
