Grand final: SLY vs T1.A, KR
The World Star Challengers Invitational is the LoL World Championship for challenger teams. In a tournament that mirrors the format of pre-2023 Worlds, the 16 best tier 2 teams faced off until only two remained.
As those leagues had never been tested against each other before, this is the first answer we’re getting as to how they compare. As it turns out, Europe and South Korea are far above the rest. Not only are they the two finalists, they always topped their groups. NA’s representative Cupid Esports only reached the playoffs because Korea and Europe only sent seven teams. CPD then immediately lost to T1 Esports Academy.
In the semifinals, only the LFL and LCK CL were left. Those series went one for one, leaving the question of which region is better for the very last match.
The LFL currently stands at 7-3 in game score against the LCK CL. France is guaranteed to keep the head-to-head, but the bigger prize remains: Which of them will win the inaugural WSCI?
