MOONTON will be returning to the Esports World Cup, with its flagship title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). The EWC 2026 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In a recent press release, the developer has confirmed the participating teams and the slot allocations for the Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the Women’s Invitational (MWI).

According to MOONTON, this year’s event will put a focus on inclusion and globalization with its five-region overhaul strategy. The announced slots further back this strategy as with emerging regions like India being allocated a main stage slot.

With a prize pool of $3.5 million, MLBB will be one of the biggest events in EWC.

16 top-tier men’s teams have been given direct slots in the main stage, with Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia getting two slots. Regions like India and Myanmar have been given singles slots, making their competition a bit more challenging, as they can only draft in one team in the competition.

Other teams like Vietnam, Mongolia, and Brunei will have to compete in the Wild Card slots to get a chance to compete in the Main Stage.

The announced slots for the MWI, on the other hand, are as follows:

The MWI will commence at the EWC from July 13 to 17. The title defenders, Team Vitality, will be given a secured slot in the main stage to defend their title. Team Vitality’s roster is already five-time MWI winners, making them one of the most decorated teams in the MLBB competitive play.

Therefore, the MSC and MWI are set to be two of the highlights at the World Cup in Saudi Arabia this year. With expanded regions, both tournaments set to offer plenty of Mobile Legends betting opportunities as squads fight to take the coveted title.

In its drive for globalization, MOONTON has given 10 teams Wild Card slots to give them a chance to qualify for the main stage as well. With its five-region overhaul strategy, MOONTON expects to improve the reach and esports competitiveness of MLBB in the following regions:

  • EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa)
  • SEA (Southeast Asia)
  • AMER (Americas)
  • EECA (Eastern Europe and Central Asia)
  • EA (East Asia)

Last year, MLBB was one of the most-watched games in EWC with over 47 million hours watched and 3.26 million peak concurrent viewers. This year, with a larger player pool, MOONTON expects even bigger numbers.
