New Neon glitch turns her into a flying headshot machine

Neon’s movement was significantly buffed in Valorant patch 8.11, but Riot accidentally buffed her mid-air accuracy to create a game-breaking glitch.

Valorant patch 8.11 was quite a meta-shaker, bringing in significant buffs and nerfs for the entire duelist lineup. The main focus, however, was on Neon. With a goal to make all agents as viable as Jett and Raze, if not more, Riot rolled out buffs for Neon, an underrated agent. When used correctly, Neon can be a menace, but she is too niche. Patch 8.11 changes that. Riot boosted her weapon accuracy while sprinting and strafing, a buff many players took issue with. After all, Valorant already has a history with run-and-gun issues.

When players saw Neon’s aerial accuracy in a clip posted by pro player Zachary “Zekken” Patrone, the whole community went into a tailspin over the glitch.

Sentinels’ Zekken shared a clip of the new changes in practice on X. In the video, Neon can be seen hopping down from Haven’s tower, with a near-perfect crosshair placement mid-air. Players thought this was part of the recent buffs that improved Neon’s accuracy while running.

It turns out Neon’s crazy flying accuracy is actually just a glitch.

“Just wanted to say we’re working on a fix for this right now. Aerial accuracy not intended,” said Valorant product management lead Coleman Palm.

After patch 8.11 changes, players should feel more accurate while sliding, but this doesn’t apply to her aerial movement. According to Riot, it’s a bug that’s currently getting fixed. Players can now breathe a sigh of relief since Neon, even without any buffs, can be pretty annoying. With the new changes, the run-and-gun playstyle was expected to be extremely powerful. The clip showing improved aerial accuracy caused panic among the players, who were convinced that Neon would outrank all duelists if that’s how she plays post-buff.

Fortunately, she’s getting patched. But, even without the glitch, the new updates to Neon’s toolkit are powerful and promising. The agent is now equipped with an extra Relay Bolt, a longer-lasting wall, and a bigger fuel tank.
