The Counter-Strike Tier 1 circuit never stops, and coming up next on the road is PGL Bucharest 2026. Although not all of the world’s best CS2 teams will be in attendance, the competition and excitement should not suffer.

While PARIVISION will be gunning for another trophy in 2026, the rest of the field will be trying their hardest to make a deep playoff run and gain confidence in the end-of-season stretch before the Major.

That said, here’s our PGL Bucharest 2026 preview.

Event info

PGL Bucharest 2026 will span eight days from April 4 to 11. Sixteen teams will battle it out in a Swiss group stage, with half advancing to the playoffs. All the games, apart from the grand final, will be best-of-three.

Even though the attendees aren’t collectively as strong as at previous PGL events, this tournament still sports a sizeable $1.25 million prize pool, with the champions set to take home $400,000.

PGL Bucharest 2026 sees an interesting variety of teams in the mix. PARIVISION and The MongolZ are the two strongest squads, having already made playoffs several times this year.

Other solid squads in and around the top 10 are Astralis, FUT, and Legacy, all of which we didn’t get to see at BLAST Open Rotterdam.

There are also a couple of wildcards, which could surprise, both positively and negatively. These include FaZe Clan, NRG, and BC.Game, with one of the best CS2 players of all time, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, on the roster.

However, it’s important to mention that FaZe could miss the opening days of the event due to a scheduling conflict with another LAN event they might be attending.

Thanks to Vitality skipping this event, a different team could get their hands on some silverware. The CS2 betting favorites to take home the PGL Bucharest 2026 trophy are unsurprisingly PARIVISION.

The Russian squad is consistently challenging the very best in the world. They are great at denying upsets and putting away lower-level opposition.

Other teams that could have a shot at the title are The MongolZ, FUT, and Astralis. All three teams impressed in 2026, securing top 4 placings at different events this year. The MongolZ, in particular, could be the most likely challengers in this group.

CS2 odds are unlikely to be in their favor, but we know what FaZe can do on any given Sunday. However, expecting them to go any further than the quarter-finals at the very best would be wishful thinking.
