Team Spirit’s TI15 and EWC CS2 wins netted them over $3 million in one day

Team Spirit pocketed over $3 million in just one day on August 24, after winning The International 2026 (TI15) and the Counter-Strike 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026.

Despite this huge payday, which is the lifetime earnings for many esports organizations, this doesn’t even come close to the amount Team Spirit has made from prize money in a single day.

Before we get to that, though, the $3 million figure needs to be explained.

How Team Spirit made over $3 million in one day

Firstly, Team Spirit won TI15, taking down Team Vision 3–2 in a nail-biting grand final at the packed Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China. The tournament had a prize pool of just under $3.5 million, bolstered by contributions from supporter bundle sales.

With the victory on Dota 2’s biggest esports stage, Team Spirit took 42.5 percent of that, or about $1.48 million.

A couple of thousand kilometers away, Team Spirit’s Counter-Strike 2 roster, led by Boris “magixx” Vorobyev, were up against FUT Esports in the grand final of the EWC – CS2, another major match for anyone following CS2 betting. This game was an easier affair than the win Spirit had in Dota 2, despite FUT opening with a win.

Team Spirit, though, came from behind to close the series 3–1. The CS2 tournament at the EWC had a $2 million prize pool, and Spirit pocketed $600,000 of this.

Besides the prize money, though, Team Spirit also received 1,000 Club Points due to their win. These Club Points contribute to the Club Championship at the EWC, which alone carries a $30 million prize pool.

Basically, points are awarded across different tournaments at the EWC, with the top organizations receiving a share of the prize money.

The 1,000 points that Team Spirit received from CS2 pushed them to sixth in the Club Championship standings—tied with Virtus.Pro—which would pay out $1.275 million.

Assuming that Spirit hadn’t gotten the 1,000 points from CS2, they would have placed 15th in the Club Championship, tied with G2, FaZe, and BIG, making only $290,000. This is a difference of $985,000.

Therefore, combining the three, the club made over $3 million in just a single day.

That is a pretty decent payday for the esports organization. However, for the three-time TI winners, this doesn’t even come close to what it won during TI 2021. This edition of The International featured the largest prize pool for a single esports tournament at $40 million.

Team Spirit won the tournament and walked away with a life-changing $18.2 million.
