KPL Grand Final 2024

AG Super Play, considered the most dominant Honor of Kings esports team, is set to miss their first King Pro League (KPL) grand final in two years.

This comes after the defending champion suffered a 4–2 loss against Kuaishou Gaming in the lower bracket final yesterday.

Kuaishou Gaming will now face off against Wolves in the KPL Spring 2026 grand final to crown the champion. Besides the title, the champion will also qualify for the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2026.

AG Super Play, while it placed third, will be disappointed with its performance this split—and that is because of its past records.

Since the Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC) 2023, where they became the world champions, the team has been on a hot run of form.

It finished second in the KPL Spring 2024, and followed that up with consecutive wins in the KPL Summer 2024, KPL Grand Final 2024, Honor of Kings Challenger Cup 2024, KPL Spring 2025, Honor of Kings World Cup 2025, KPL Summer 2025, and the KPL Grand Final 2025.

In these string of victories, the team became the first to win four consecutive titles.

AG Super Play faces rocky journey throughout the season

AG Super Play haven’t had the smoothest season during the KPL Spring 2026. It placed third in the first stage of the tournament, a stage which it comfortably placed first in during both instances in 2025.

The team was able to find its footing subsequently, though, to qualify for the upper bracket semifinal in the playoffs. Here, it beat JD Gaming 4–0 to make it to the UB final.

However, AG Super Play now faced its biggest challenge in the form of Wolves Esports, which had defeated them 3–0 earlier in the season.

The team once again faltered against Wolves, who handed them a devastating 4–0 loss.

For AG Super Play and Wolves, the repercussions of this result extend beyond the KPL. The winner of the tournament qualifies for the Honor of Kings World Cup, which takes place during the Esports World Cup.

Both All Gamers and Wolves are a part of the Esports Foundation Club Partner Program and are chasing the club championship title.

The EWC Club Championship is a tournament where clubs are rewarded with points for their performances across different competitions in the Esports World Cup.

At the end, the top 24 clubs will be awarded a share of the $30 million Club Championship prize pool, with the winner alone pocketing $7 million.

Last year, All Gamers placed in the top six, primarily bolstered by its win in the Honor of Kings World Cup. Wolves, on the other hand, placed outside the top 50.

China has a structured esports program for Honor of Kings which it has been developing for years, while other regions have just started playing Honor of Kings esports. Therefore, the tournament is considered an easier win for the country.

Wolves, however, still need to take down Kuaishou Gaming in the KPL Spring 2026 grand final on April 11 to make it to the KWC.
