Apex Legends Wild Iron event explained: Dates, wildcards, mythic weapon and more
Apex Legends fires the Wild Iron event is offering a ton of chaos with eight new explosive Wildcards and the launch of the Mythic Flatline. Plus, hot skins and rewards, this event combines military firepower with a fight of technology against nature as the Outlands turn into a noisier, flashier, and more unpredictable warzone.
New Wildcards in Apex Legends Wild Iron Event
A limited-time event taking place from September 16 to September 30, 2025. At the center of Wild Iron are eight all-new Wildcards that can be crafted with Replicators. Wildcards are modifiers that add unique variability to gameplay that will encourage players to diversify squad compositions and adapt.

- Crackerjack – When you secure a knock, it instantly reloads your weapons
- Down Bad – Knocked enemies explode on impact
- Extra Ordnance – Carry one additional ordnance
- Good Doctor – Revive squadmates with bonus shields
- Gren-Aid – Enemies hit by your explosives are automatically marked
- Sent Packing – Frag grenade knockback is significantly amplified
- Shield’s Up – Grants an Epic (purple) shield
- Stowed Reload – Weapons reload automatically when stowed
From explosive chaos by pairing Extra Ordnance with Down Bad, to support-heavy strategies powered by Good Doctor and Shield’s Up, these Wildcards make squad synergy more important than ever.
Mythic Flatline and Loot Updates

This update reveals one of the most daring weapon reworks yet: the Mythic Flatline, obtained exclusively through Rampart’s Care Packages. Mythic Flatline Abilities:
- Knocked enemies are now time bombs to revive them and diffuse the bomb
- Every fifth bullet deals double damage and triggers a small AOE blast
Alongside this Mythic addition, loot pools have been fine-tuned to lean into the event’s explosive theme:
- Increased spawn rates for grenades and ordnance
- EPG-1 grenade launchers in Mythic loot bins
- More frequent Bocek Bow spawns
The Mythic Flatline, in particular, is designed as a high-risk, high-reward weapon-deadly in skilled hands but with mechanics that can just as easily backfire. If you are up for the grind in Season 26, here’s our Apex Legends Tier List ranking the best to worst for this season.
Cosmetics, Skins & Reward Shop

No Apex Legends event is complete without fresh cosmetics, and Wild Iron delivers with a lineup that highlights its fiery theme:
- Mythic Fuse-inspired Flatline skin
- New Legendary skins for Pathfinder, Lifeline, Vantage, Valkyrie, Conduit, and Catalyst
- Weapon skins for the Mastiff, Bocek, Nemesis, and more
- Event Packs that guarantee one event-exclusive item, with no duplicates
The event will also include a rotating Reward Shop that will use the new event currency, Cores, that players will earn by completing the daily challenges. Players can redeem Cores for progression badges (which have four tiers), gun charms, crafting metals, and some special cosmetics as well. The Reward Shop will rotate halfway through the event to provide continued freshness and give players incentive to log in and continue doing challenges.
Wild Iron is going to make Apex a spectacle of exploding chaos with aggressive Wildcards creating explosions and support tools changing the flow of the fight. The Mythic Flatline will add an insane firepower high risk, high reward component affecting the area that is loud, flashy, and unpredictable. Now is your opportunity to earn rewards in the glorious chaos of the Outlands. However, the Apex Legends Season 26 Split 2 Patch notes still leaves much to be improved in terms of gameplay experience.
