Fnatic finally wins a match in the LEC 2026 Summer Split

Fnatic finally won a match in the LEC 2026 Summer Split as they took down SK Gaming. While this was a victory among lower-tier teams, they escaped the possibility of a winless split and even still have a pathway to the playoffs. Now, only Shifters is left without a point to their name.

Fnatic beats SK Gaming in the LEC 2026 Summer Split

With their performance in the LEC weeks 2 and 3, FNC actually looked like they were at risk of going winless the entire split. While losing to Karmine Corp is expected, they failed to score against a stumbling Movistar KOI. Then, they also lost against Team Heretics, giving TH their only victory yet.

In week 4, they finally scored a win against SK Gaming. Better yet, they actually looked convincing. Minus a couple hiccups in the early game, Fnatic looked much more cohesive and coherent. The match turned into a relatively decisive 2-0 victory for the squad in orange.

Can Fnatic reach the LEC 2026 Summer playoffs?

FNC is now 1-3, with five matches left to play. While five matches mean more than half of the split, they’re in fact in a dire spot.

In Spring 2026, the cutoff for playoff qualification was at five wins. Most of the time, the sixth-place team only has four wins, but both are possible. Moreover, the weakness of the bottom four makes it more likely for the cutoff to stay at five.

If the sixth place team finishes 5-4, that means FNC is only allowed to lose a single of their remaining matches, needing to win four. If sixth place finishes 4-5 instead, they can get by with two losses.

Realistically, Fnatic’s chances are poor. All opponents besides Shifters are favored against them. While they won against G2 from a similar spot in the Spring Split, this version of the team looks far more disciplined now.

As for the hopeful side, FNC showed clear improvement in their last match. Vladimiros “Vladi” Kourtidis who was a liability in the past games, finally made a strong impact. As for Lim “Soboro” Seong-min, he’s also starting to show his true potential. Considering that FNC’s problems mainly stemmed from a lack of confidence paired with aimless playing, a boost in momentum might benefit them greatly.

Fnatic has their work cut out for them, but their fate is still in their hands, and they might recover just in time. As they have never missed Worlds since 2016, a top six is the first necessary step to keep that streak going.

Shifters is still winless in the LEC 2026 Summer Split

While FNC finally picked up their win, SHFT has yet to join them. Now at 0-5, they still even have to face KC and VIT. On the other hand, Fnatic and Team Heretics are more reasonable opponents.

The last and only time a team finished the LEC winless in a regular season (short splits excluded) was in 2017, as Origen went 0-13. Will Shifters join them? Share your thoughts on our forums.
