After the recent Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup, this year’s LCK competition has resumed with rounds 3-5. The first day will see the tournament’s continuing favorite, Gen.G, face off against a game challenger in HLE. While Hanwha Life Esports started the year strong, the team’s current form is looking much more shaky, raising the question of whether it can really be the team to end Gen.G’s ongoing winning streak.

- Stage: Rounds 3-5

- Format: Best-of-three
Betting tip: Gen.G may be the team to side with, but the side’s recent matches suggest there’s a good chance the match will at least go to the third game.
Gen.G vs HLE match analysis
Gen.G is easily the team to beat in the League of Legends professional scene. The team is going on a strong 26-match winning streak that kicked off with this year’s first LCK round. Since then, the team comfortably breezed through the recent MSI and Esports World Cup competitions, only occasionally facing resistance from some of the strongest teams in the world.
The team’s stand-out player is easily mid-laner Chovy, and one look at the last game against AG.AL, the EWC grand final’s fifth and final game, will explain why. The player’s micro and macro skills are excellent, and his strategy of gaining a decent gold advantage early over his enemy laner before helping his jungler acquire objectives has worked perfectly. What’s more, it’s a very difficult tactic to counter because it rely’s on Chovy’s individual mechanics, which few players can even attempt to contend with.
The tactic is more polished thanks to Kiin and Ruler being excellent players in their own right, with Ruler in particular having high carry potential.

Hanwha Life Esports isn’t a bad team, but much of its hype has died down relative to when the side won First Stand earlier in 2025. HLE’s performance in the last LCK split was good, but things have gone downhill since then. The team lost 0-3 in the Road to MSI, ensuring it couldn’t qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational, and then was eliminated in the first match of the EWC playoffs.
Much of this is thanks to the team’s poor drafting. Zeus is an excellent top laner, but playing a champion like Lee Sin into K’Sante is a recipe for disaster, as was showcased against AG.AL. Peanut continues to be shaky in the jungle, and while Viper and Delight are a strong pairing in the bottom lane, a lack of ganks by Peanut usually means Viper can’t snowball into a good carry.

Champion pool
- Gen.G’s most common picks include Gwen, Rumble, Xin Zhao, Skarner, Naafiri, Ahri, Miss Fortune, Jhin, Rakan, Nautilus, and Alistar. Chovy’s Twisted Fate and Ruler’s Xayah may get banned or picked by HLE, considering how good they were against AG.AL.
- Hanwha Life Esports tends to go for a limited pool of champions, which includes Jayce, Xin Zhao, Sylas, Renata Glasc, Ambessa, Sejuani, and Azir.

Gen.G vs HLE betting picks and predictions
Hanwha Life Esports is a strong team, but its recent performance has left much to be desired. With poor drafting and the team’s jungler being unreliable overall, HLE is unlikely to walk away with a win. However, the team’s similar mechanical skills to those of Gen.G in the top and bottom lanes may ensure that the match goes to the third game before Gen.G wins out in the series.
Best picks
- HLE gets first blood @ 1.96: Despite Gen.G winning two tournaments in a single week, it continues to take things slow at the start of games, potentially letting HLE claim first blood.
- Total maps over 2.5 @ 2.09: Gen.G frequently takes things the distance and wins late in a series, and the same may happen against HLE.
