FNC vs MKOI, DE

With the roadshow being over, the LEC resumes with its normal match-ups. The name of this one is either redemption, or the chance to disappoint even more. Between Fnatic who’s had a terrible 2026 and Movistar KOI who’s gone 0-3 in the first week, anything can happen.

There’s a reasonable case to make for FNC winning this match. If MKOI keeps showing the same shaky form, the bot, mid and jungle of Fnatic can push through and exploit the weakness. The first big question mark will be how Lim “Soboro” Seong-min will fit in that roster.
The second point in favor of FNC is Iván “Razork” Martín Díaz’s aggressive potential. When the meta asks for bloodshed, he’ll be happy to answer the call. Lastly, if Soboro turns out good, Alex “Myrwn” Pastor Villarejo has not been a solid element of MKOI, and this could be another point to push through.
Now for the bad news for the black and orange. While Elias “Upset” Lipp is supposed to be a strong point for FNC, there’s no telling how he’ll fare playing different champions. Worse, David “Supa” Martínez García has already shown that he’s on top of the mage meta and even beyond it, being willing to pick assassins bot lane.
The last time Upset has played a mage in pro play was in 2020. FNC’s ADC played two games on Syndra that year, going 1-1. Before that, it was during the first mages meta in Summer 2018.
That said, he did perform alright on them. However, if he proves to be shaky on mages now, Supa will demolish him.
Generally speaking, FNC consistently struggles with gauging how aggressive they should be, becoming the architects of their own downfall. The hyperaggressive meta could either benefit them, or worsen the issue. On the other side of the rift, MKOI has actually had a few convincing early games, with a tendency of throwing. FNC might not manage to punish them as well as their earlier opponents did.
