Attending teams

Thankfully, PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 will have an extremely strong field of teams, with only one of the world’s best CS2 squads rejecting the event invite. Funnily enough, it’s the winners of the previous edition, Falcons, who opted against trying to defend last year’s title.
Another key omission could be on the players’ side over at Team Vitality. The ESL Pro League Season 24 champions might be missing their in-game leader, Dan “apeX” Madesclaire, who is set to be on parental leave during the event. Stand-in for the Frenchman will be Justinas “jL” Lekavicius.
Beyond the usual suspects, some of the most interesting teams in attendance will be those that don’t frequent every Tier 1 event nowadays. Liquid, The MongolZ, and TYLOO would be squads that fit that criteria.

Vitality coming to Bucharest without their full roster has blown this tournament wide open from a CS2 betting perspective. The hierarchy of teams at the top of Counter-Strike is not well-established at the moment, so virtually any one of the top six teams could claim the trophy.
Considering apeX’s absence, Vitality shouldn’t be one of the realistic frontrunners for the title. The two main contenders are probably MOUZ and Spirit, having been the most formidable challengers to Vitality in the second season of 2026.
Two interesting squads that could make a deep run at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 are FUT and NAVI. FUT have been one of the best CS2 teams in the last few months, but their absence from EPL S24 meant that we haven’t seen them on the server in a while. The international squad even made a roster change in the meantime, signing Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia to take over the AWPing duties.
As for NAVI, they are in hot water at the moment. With their Major qualification still in question, they will be forced to bring their A-game in Bucharest. The added pressure could work in their favor, and we might see the best version of NAVI at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026.
