Riot Games Korea records a growth of 10% in revenue, doubles benefits from 2024

Riot Games Korea announced that it had $331 million in revenue in 2025 (₩491 billion). This is an increase of 10.8% for the branch compared to 2024. This makes for an operating profit of $69 million (₩103 billion), doubling the 2024 numbers.

Riot Games Korea records $331 million in revenue in 2025

Riot recorded growth in several areas to result in a successful 2025 in Korea. The main source of revenue is the sale of digital goods across the three main titles—League of Legends, Wild Rift, and VALORANT.

Skins and other digital items sold for $309 million in the past year, a jump of 8.9% from 2024.

To top it off, Riot Games Korea also recorded:

  • $18.6 million in service revenues
  • $2.8 million in merchandise sales
  • $580,000 in other revenues

The LCK’s merger with Riot Games Korea

In October 2025, Riot Games Korea integrated the LCK, which operated as its own entity until then. This move also played a part in the benefits growth by reducing the operating costs. Those expenses dropped by about $5.1 million.

In practice, this doesn’t affect their decisions. The LCK has always acted as a subsidiary of Riot Korea, but they were made separate to ensure transparency.

With the merger though, that transparency now disappears, as the costs and revenues of the league are just part of Riot’s and can no longer be identified.

In fact, the merger also writes off $34 million in losses from the league, as the LCK’s revenue had been steadily declining.

More money for the teams

In 2025, Riot introduced the Global Revenue Pool model to distribute a part of the in-game revenue to the esports teams. All teams receive a set share of the pool, and then a bonus based on their records and on their fandom.

Riot cites this as their main reason behind the merger with the LCK: the money gained from sales within the game benefits the esports teams. Therefore, there is a higher connection between the game and esports, and the merger becomes the more strategic choice.

The LCK team, T1 listed Riot Games as one of its main revenue sources in 2025, a tell that the GRP does indeed provide consequential sums of money.

In total, Riot Games Korea disclosed $262 million in expenses in 2025.
