Shopify Rebellion reverse sweeps Sentinels in the LCS playoffs

Shopify Rebellion won against Sentinels in the lower bracket of the LCS Summer playoffs in a never-before-seen way for LoL history. Not only did they successfully reverse sweep for the first time in four years, they completed the sweep by stealing an Elder dragon and winning on the spot. Sentinels’ 2026 season is now over, while SR advances to the second round of the LCS Summer playoffs.

SEN started the series up 2-0 against SR. No part of these games was close. SEN won the first map 17-1 with an 18k gold lead in 27 minutes. As for the second one, SR made several crucial mistakes that locked them out of the game.

Sentinels was set to sign off early as they started the third game just as well. Up 2.5k gold at 13 minutes, they had a dive comp with a strong Kai’Sa and a scaling Dr. Mundo. Then, as they set to engage on Ju “Bvoy” Yeong-hoon, he played perfectly to escape the dive and turn the fight around. The momentum flipped, SEN stayed on the backfoot and lost game 3.

Game 4 was very similar as Sentinels won the early game once more, but Shopify Rebellion fielded an explosive teamfight comp. SEN quickly became powerless despite sneaking a Baron, and SR evened the score.

The final map was quieter and Sentinels won the early game all five times. Eventually, they got their Infernal Soul while always maintaining decent control. Going into the Elder drake, everything was set their way: they had the position, the lead, and the Soul. As the dragon fell low, they even Poppy-ulted SR’s jungler out of the pit.

Down a jungler, Bvoy stole the Elder dragon with a Miss Fortune ultimate despite SEN still having their Smite up. With the Bullet Time also hitting every opponent, Shopify wiped Sentinels and won on the spot.

Taking a look at the League of Legends stats, this is the first reverse sweep that SR completed since the LCS Summer 2022, over four years ago.

Shopify Rebellion qualifies for the Demacia Cup

With their win against Sentinels, Shopify Rebellion will finish in fifth place at the lowest. As such, they are qualified for at least the Demacia Cup.

If they win two more matches, they’ll finish in the top three and qualify for the World Championship instead. However, this most likely requires beating FlyQuest and Cloud9 as they’ve yet to win a single match against either in 2026. Worse, C9 has already defeated them 3-0 this playoffs.
