Time wasted on LoL: Find out how long you have been playing League of Legends for

League of Legends is still one of the biggest games in the world, with millions of players logging on to play their favorite MOBA every day. And while in some regions the game may be winding down in terms of numbers; in Asia, Europe, and North America, it’s still going strong. But have you ever wondered about the time wasted on LoL? Is it days, weeks, months, or even years! Well, wonder no longer because we’ve explained all the steps you need to take to reach the metrics.
Time wasted on LoL: How to find out
Finding out how much time you have wasted in League of Legends could not be simpler. And while there is no internal checker anymore like there was in previous seasons, don’t worry; there are a couple of tools and websites that will be able to expose how much of your life you have wasted playing League of Legends.
The first and most trusted site is Wasted on LoL. This is the most common website for learning about the number of minutes, hours, days, months, and years you’ve spent on the game.

Firstly, head over to the site. From there, you’ll be greeted with a search bar and a drop-down menu to the side of it. That is where you will select what region your League of Legends account is in. Once you’ve entered your Riot ID, click enter. Now you’ll be able to see the time-spent stats associated with your account.
You’ll be able to find out how much your favorite streamer has played in League of Legends. Take Caedrel, for example. Although he has many LoL accounts, if you can find his name from a website like op.gg, you’ll be able to enter it into Wasted on LoL and see how much he has played. This will likely be more applicable to a professional League of Legends player who has only had one account for many years playing in Challenger.

Is Wasted on LoL accurate?
WoL isn’t accurate, but it’s the most accurate there is. The Riot Support page no longer offers the option to view time spent on LoL, neither does requesting the account’s data.
Wasted on LoL returns a number that is undershot and inaccurate, but it will be relatively close to the truth. However, it only records the time spent since preseason 2018.

How does Wasted on LoL work? Unlike what everyone claims, WoL doesn’t use the number of games played to multiply it by average game time. It uses summoner experience instead. Every minute spent playing LoL awards an average of six experience points, so the account’s level functions as a clock.
This makes several approximations and assumptions, but it gives the most accurate result available. This is also why only games played since late 2017 count, as this is when accounts became able to level past 30.
Wasted on LoL only tracks time spent in game. Time on the client is not recorded.
Is there a secondary site?
There are many other sites serving the same purpose. However, all but one of them will be far off the mark. Some rely on the API and only have games up to two years old, as well as missing any Mayhem or Classic match. Others use the number of games and end up way off.

The secondary site for time wasted on LoL is lols.gg. Functioning like WoL, it’s an alternative providing little more or less.
