We’re starting the 2026 Dota 2 season off strong with BLAST Slam VI, a major tournament with teams from across the globe competing for their chance at a $1,000,000 prize pool.

With lots of on the line, a season ahead of us, and teams competing with new lineups and strong existing rosters, it’s going to be a hard one to call. BLAST Slam VI details and format

BLAST Slam VI will run from Feb. 3 until Feb. 15. Featuring 12 teams, nine directly invited, and three by regional qualifier, they’ll all compete in a best-of-one round-robin group stage. From there the top two teams will advance directly to the semi-finals while the remaining teams will proceed to either the play-in or last chance playoff.

The last chance playoff will feature teams in 9th to 12th place in a series of best-of-three bouts with one single team advancing to the play-in.

In the play-in, more best-of-three matches will decide the four finalists who will head to the Playoffs. Playoffs are single elimination with a bye for the best performing teams from group stage.

12 teams will head to Malta to compete at BLAST Slam VI. The event features directly invited teams from around the world, and three regional qualifier teams from the Southeast Asia, China, and Easter Europe.

Players to watch during BLAST Slam VI

We’ve got a host of star players to watch at BLAST SLAM but here’s a few standouts:

• Neta “33” Shapira is in the conversation for one the best and most consistent Dota 2 players of all time. Since 2018, every team he’s been on has become a winner, and has won TIs with Tundra Esports and Team Liquid. There’s no doubt that in 2026, he’ll be looking to cement his legacy as an all-time great.
• OG’s revival as an SEA superpower has come out of nowhere, and one of the leading parts is Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer. A high threshold mechanical mid player who lives to 1v1 opposing players, Yopaj has elevated teams in both NA and SEA. And his tenure with OG seems no different.
• After underperforming on Gaimin Gladiators as their carry, Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov is finally getting his flowers as the talent behind the deadly Team Yandex. A team that many underestimate, it’s watson and his consistency in lane that helps secure victories for the EEU powerhouse.

BLAST Slam VI betting tips

If you’re a Dota 2 betting fan, then BLAST Slam VI is definitely an event you’ll want to focus on. While there’s some obvious favorites, we expect some top play and maybe some upsets to shake things up.

• Despite being constant victors and last years’ TI-winners, Team Falcons have fallen in recent estimations, and look likely to struggle into the play-ins rather than straight into the Playoffs. Betting against them when they’re facing strong opponents like the Team Liquids and Team Spirits of the world is a good choice.
• OG look primed to make a deep run. While not likely to secure a victory, favouring them when they have good odds could secure you an easy win.
• Tundra Esports are the favorites to win this tournament. Pick them for outrights and individual matchups.
