PGL Wallachia Season 8 playoff recap

The playoffs have been a massacre, with some of the best teams in the world falling short. First and foremost, the South American teams. After both HEROIC and South American Rejects made it into the final eight, heartbreakingly, the both ended up facing each other in the lower bracket, in a scene oddly reminiscent of TI14’s beastcoast vs. HEROIC elimination match.

Unfortunately, even after besting regional rivals HEROIC, SAR could match up against Team Liquid, who’d fallen to the lower bracket thanks to an explosive performance by BetBoom. Similarly, PARIVISION fell against Aurora Gaming, who have recaptured some of that early ESL One Birmingham 2026 potential they had pre-patch 7.41.

However, in the upper bracket BetBoom humbled Aurora, but not before one of the longest games of the tournament, and 81-minute nail-biter to kick off the series. Seemingly exhausted after that first win BB Team managed too drop game two, before making short work of Aurora in the final match. BetBoom are locked for the finals and maybe the tournament win.

Meanwhile, in the lower bracket, Team Liquid and Team Falcons clashed in a rematch of the UB Quarterfinal matchup. This time, however, Falcons were ready for Team Liquid’s aggression, punishing them with a decisive style of their own. In another classic, with multiple almost hour-long matches, Falcons secured their first finals-day in what seems like an eternity. They’ll face Aurora tomorrow morning for a chance at the Grand Finals.

Finals Predictions

We’ll keep these predictions updated as results come in. Right now, here’s out break down of the PGL Wallachia Season 8 Finals.

Team Falcons vs. Aurora

This is going to be one of the most even matchups of the tournament, and amazingly, these teams haven’t faced each other at all yet this tournament. That means this is a complete unknown.

On paper, we’re favouring Aurora. Rafli “Mikoto” Fathur Rahman has been playing out of his mind this tournament, and he’s backed up by carry player Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, who is very adept at this patches’ unusual carry meta.

But Falcons have a seemingly hidden edge in the absolutely out-of-this-world play of Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf. On a squad were, frankly, the rest of his team are underperforming, ATF has found a way to win consistently even without their help.

Our pick is Team Falcons 2-1. (Result: Aurora 2-0

BetBoom vs. Aurora Gaming

BetBoom has performed incredible this event, and we’d expect them to continue their winning ways. However, Aurora’s endless adaptability will be hard to overcome. Still, we’re predicting a strong victory for BetBoom.

Our pick is BetBoom Team: 3-1
