Fans who are attending TI and ordered official merch online are reporting a major typo in one of the sweatshirts for sale.

The eight best Dota 2 teams are competing in Copenhagen this weekend at The International 13. They face off in front of a 16,000-person live audience and scores more watching from home. Despite the hype over the games themselves, reports are coming out about an unfortunate mistake in one of the expensive official merch sweatshirts.

Here’s how bad the TI merch typo is and what the organizers’ responses have been so far.

TI merch features a typo for the host city

The offending TI 13 merch lists the location as “Coppenhagen,” a funny typo of Copenhagen.

Copenhagen misspelled on official TI merch.

Fans have been reporting the typo is consistent in both the online shop and the in-person merch stalls. Seemingly shortly after the Reddit post breaking the news went up, organizers removed the $80 sweatshirt from both shops.

Although the sweatshirt is no longer listed on the Dota 2 secret shop, fans can still see it on the website’s main image. In the bottom left corner, Copenhagen is spelled with two Ps. This seems to be the only major typo in the circus-themed TI merch lineup.

However, it seems that the company either tried to cover up this mistake or a fan took it upon themselves to defend the merch stand’s honor. Earlier on September 13, an unknown editor on Wikipedia added am extra P to Copenhagen throughout the city’s official Wikipedia page. Fans pointed this out early, though the changes have since been reversed.

Interestingly, the IP address given points to the editing location as Denmark and the internet service provider as SC PGL Esports SRL. Some are alleging that organizers purposefully changed the spelling on the page. This would have been an attempt to cover the mistake if anyone tried to search Copenhagen and check. However, this is pure speculation among fans and could just as easily be a fan’s joke about the TI merch typo.

The typo in the TI “Coppenhagen” sweatshirt could either become a total loss for fans who bought it or, more likely, a collector’s item.  The sweatshirt is no longer available on the site or in person. Those who want it now may have to pay a hefty price.
