Dota 2 is an extremely rewarding game and Finland is no exception as some of the richest esports players hail from the land of ‘Suomi’.

The majority of the top players have accrued their winnings from The International (TI), causing a huge disparity between the rest.

Let’s meet the Finns who are swarming in the midst of money and have become millionaires.

Jesse ‘Jerax’ Vainikka | $6,486,400.02

The flamboyant Finnish player has been competing in the Dota 2 circuit for nearly a decade.

He is mostly well known for his time playing for OG, with whom he became the first two time TI champion.

Winning TI8 & TI9 amassed Jerax over $5.3 million constituting nearly 80% in earnings.

After winning two TI’s, the Finn retired from competitive gaming, before making a return with Evil Geniuses.

However, Jerax departed EG’s line-up after bleeding blue for six months.

Dota 2: Topias ‘Topson’ Taavitsainen | $5,690,417.57

The charismatic Finn won a TI on his debut in 2018. To top it off, Topias added another TI to his belt in 2019 — both with OG.

Winning two consecutive TI’s is an achievement in itself as every Dota 2 player dreams of winning one, but not many are able to.

Sheer luck or skill? Doesn’t matter.

He came, he saw, he conquered.

Topson’s $5.3 million earning from TI constitutes about 95% of his total earnings.

Dota 2: Lasse ‘Matumbaman’ Urpalainen | $4,526,049.04

Arguably one of the most loved Finnish and Dota 2 players in the game, Matumbaman is a force to be reckoned with.

Over the course of his career, Matumbaman has spent the most amount of time with Team Liquid, with whom he won TI 2017.

His highest winning came from TI7 where he won over $2 million in earnings.

Besides TI, he also has numerous first place finishes in different tournaments.

However, as is with other players on the list, Matumbaman has won majority of the prize money by competing at TI.
