Esports has been on an exciting rise over the past decade, as professional players went from playing in crowded, tiny cybercafes to playing in arenas in front of thousands of fans and competing for millionaire prize pools.

What made esports turn into a multi-billion-dollar industry was the support of game developers and publishers, paired with significant investment from different parties. Esports became a serious career pathway, whether you were a professional player, caster, observer, or reporter.

Nowadays, even though some games come and go, we have healthy tier-one, tier-two, and grassroots scenes across a variety of games. And, just like your favorite sport, there are esports tournaments to watch every single week.

Games such as League of Legends, CS2, Dota 2, and VALORANT are regularly attracting millions of viewers every other tournament nowadays. They also have a more established ecosystem in comparison to their competitors.

On top of them, we have games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, which are not as esports-focused, but still have plenty of action going on. The FGC, an acronym for Fighting Gaming Community, also can’t be underestimated, as they have numerous pros competing in Street 6, Mortal Kombat, and more.

Additionally, hero shooter Marvel Rivals is on a meteoric rise in 2025 and have the potential to fill the void that Overwatch fans desperately need.
