In the Spring Split, the bottom four teams in the LEC won exactly one match against the top six. That match was FNC vs G2 Esports, and all things considered, this isn’t surprising for them.

So far, the Summer Split is shaping up to be similar. The top and bottom parts might shift around a bit, with GiantX possibly dropping to make it a top-half and bottom-half situation. Otherwise, the gap between the two halves remains as wide.

After a disappointing Mid-Season Invitational, Karmine Corp had an excellent performance at the Esports World Cup where they finished in second place. Since then, they’ve come back to the LEC looking no weaker.

Currently, they’re sitting at 5-0. Not only are they over halfway through a perfect regular season, they’ve also dealt with the entire top-half.

As for Fnatic, their entire year has been dire and the Summer hasn’t started well either. FNC had a chance to secure a point against a faltering Movistar KOI, but they dropped the ball even then. Elias “Upset” Lipp commented that they play on autopilot too much, which is a problem that’s weighed them down for years already.

Additionally, they have another issue in the mid lane, as Vladimiros “Vladi” Kourtidis regularly loses his matchups very early on, creating a massive pressure point for the opponent. Now, he’s going up against the mid laner who replaced him on KC, and Kang “kyeahoo” Ye-hoo has been in incredible form. The one unknown is Fnatic’s new top laner, but Kim “Canna” Chang-dong in front of him has a strong track record.
