FURIA’s Female Counter-Strike Roster Formally Quits CS2 to Transition to VALORANT

Brazilian esports giant FURIA has officially confirmed that its women’s Counter-Strike team is quitting CS2 to compete only in VALORANT. Rebranding under the banner FURIAVAL Inclusivo, the organization’s move closes the team’s admirable run in the competitive scene of the title, winning multiple domestic titles and a world championship title.

The decision brings an end to FURIA’s female Counter-Strike division, which originally launched back in 2020 and established the team as a premier force in the South American scene.

End of the CS2 era for FURIA Fe

The biggest highlight of FURIA Fe’s tenure came at the ESL Impact Season 7 Finals, where the team lifted the trophy to become world champions. However, rather than defending their title in upcoming CS2 events, the roster will pivot entirely to Riot Games’ tactical shooter.

This major transition is surprisingly part of the recent trend in the esports scene. Recently, star player Mayline “ASTRA” Champliaud, who is regarded as the top women’s CS2 player in 2025, also leaped to VALORANT, blaming structural instability and a scarce tournament pipeline in Counter-Strike.

A scene losing its infrastructure

The core driver behind FURIA’s departure is the collapse of the women’s competitive CS calendar. ESL recently announced the shutdown of its dedicated ESL Impact circuit, which previously served as the bedrock of the scene by offering reliable regional qualifiers and seasonal international LAN finals.

Without ESL Impact to guarantee a predictable event schedule, top-tier organizations are finding it increasingly difficult to justify maintaining dedicated CS2 rosters.

What’s next for FURIAVAL Inclusivo?

While the news is most definitely bitter for all the FURIA fans and CS2 esports fans in general, the transition offers the players a far more secure, developer-backed competitive roadmap through Riot’s VCT Game Changers initiative.

FURIA has not yet detailed the exact debut date or official event schedule for FURIAVAL Inclusivo. However, with a world-champion core now turning its full attention to VALORANT, rival teams in the inclusion circuit have plenty of reason to start cooking up new counterstrategies.
