FURIA are the first seed from the Americas at VALORANT Masters Santiago. Last season, the team had a poor showing, finishing last in the VCT Americas. As a result, the organization scouted and signed players from various tier two teams. This decision has brought a lot of success to the team in the VCT Americas Kickoff 2026.

At the VCT Americas Kickoff, they defeated the likes of KRU Esports, Sentinels, and G2 Esports to reach the upper bracket finals against MIBR, who were the favorites to win. In an incredible five-map series, however, FURIA defeated MIBR 3-2 and qualified for the VALORANT Masters Santiago.

Paper Rex: The crown jewel Of VALORANT esports

In the VALORANT Champions 2025, Paper Rex finished in fourth place. This result came after the team were became champions of the VALORANT Masters Toronto and the VCT Pacific Stage Two.

At the VCT Pacific Kickoff 2026, Paper Rex couldn’t carry this momentum forward and they fell to lower bracket. Realizing the situation they were in, the team went back to the drawing board.

This proved fruitful as Paper Rex went on to defeat the likes of Global Esports, DRX, and RRQ to secure the final spot for the VALORANT Masters Santiago.

In the Swiss stage at Santiago, the team defeated G2 Esports in a clean 2-0 sweep. Following that result, they faced off against NRG Esports and won 2-1 in one of the best matches of the tournament.

FURIA vs Paper Rex betting picks & predictions

This will be the first time FURIA and Paper Rex face each other in VALORANT esports. The stakes are higher for the former as this will be their first international VALORANT competition.

According to the betting odds, Paper Rex are the clear favorites. Last year, they won their first international tournament, VALORANT Masters Toronto, and finished fourth in the VALORANT Champions 2025.

FURIA, on the other hand, are currently undefeated this VCT season. They have been quite a dominant force on maps like Abyss and Split. Seeing their map veto during the VCT Americas Kickoff, we feel they will ban Breeze, a map on which Paper Rex has a 60% win rate. There is a high chance we will see either Split or Haven being played during this series.
