Why the market favors Hanwha Life Esports
Hanwha Life Esports vs Bilibili Gaming has a strong history in 2026, albeit relatively short. The two teams met at the Mid-Season Invitational while BLG was still on course to achieve a golden road. In their first match, Bilibili Gaming took down HLE handily, but Hanwha Life won the rematch in the grand final, going 3-2 against China’s first seed.
Despite the LCK representative claiming the trophy, there was still no clear better team among the two. BLG had the head-to-head game score in their favor, and looked more dominant in their win. On the other hand, HLE won the more important match.
Three months later, the LPL has lost some of its sparkle. BLG doesn’t enter Worlds as the reigning international champion, and not even as the LPL champion. In Split 3, the Chinese league looked too inconsistent to reincarnate the threat they’d been during the first half of the year.
At LoL Worlds 2026, this is even worse. Bilibili Gaming has had an uncharacteristically poor display. BLG has lost to both Movistar KOI and Top Esports with emergency subs in the top lane and coaching staff.
In their match against TES, they were out of it. Park “Viper” Do-hyeon reported communication issues during the last game. By that point, all players were unable to focus on the game and to look ahead.
Against them, HLE faces no such struggle. Hanwha Life is in the 2-2 bracket because they’ve had one of the toughest draws in history. HLE rides the momentum and they had a strong display against G2 Esports in round 4. As such, the market favors them in Hanwha Life Esports vs Bilibili Gaming.
