The prediction markets have gone further in favor of IG over time, as people got over the shock of Team Liquid vs Anyone’s Legend. TLAW beating AL gave hope for another LCS vs LPL victory, but traders quickly came to their senses.

Why the market favors Invictus Gaming
Until today, the LCS hadn’t won a single series against the LPL since 2019. While this dry streak has just stopped, that puts NA at a head-to-head score of 1-20 over seven years.
To start with the good news for LYON, IG’s playstyle is precisely what they want to face. Invictus Gaming is trigger-happy and will fight as often as possible.
The NA representative is famously specialized in their patience, and wants to face teams that lack it. LYON has no problem avoiding fights and the objectives that would lead to them, to instead find small advantages on the side. Then, they bank all on one favorable teamfight. A team that plays aggressively gives them more opportunities to find their good moment.
Stylistically, this match-up favors LYON. However, this is where it stops. LYON can wall off their opponents’ onslaught, but the one thing they can’t act against is mechanics.
IG has some of the most individually talented players on their roster. The team is made up of three World champions, and a runner-up to back them up. Simply putting the names of Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok and Niship “Dhokla” Doshi next to each other shows the problem. The windows to find advantageous teamfights become slim when all laners are slowly bleeding out gold.
While IG hasn’t had a consistent showing, they have more in them than what they’ve shown. In the LPL, they’ve played two splits without their regular roster, and faced only a few big teams in Split 3. It is however certain that their ceiling is far above LYON’s, and this is why the market favors Invictus Gaming vs LYON.

What traders are saying
Opinions on this match-up are mostly moderate and balanced. People say that this was the middle draw for LYON – there were harder ones and easier ones – and that they can definitely win if they play well. Others view IG as one of the best teams at the tournament currently and remind that they’re favorites.
Our prediction
Prediction: Invictus Gaming to win
LYON looked very competitive against Gen.G and this is an impressive feat already, coming close to beating them. However, this team and more specifically any team with Kacper “Inspired” Słoma is an expert at getting close without pulling through. From this point on, nothing indicates that they’ll be able to replicate this and actually complete the series this time. Meanwhile, IG’s baseline is stronger than what LYON can muster.
