The LCK Road to MSI format

Unlike the other regions, the LCK doesn’t have Spring and Summer Splits. Instead, they have one long season starting in March with the results adding up from First Stand to Worlds. After MSI, the format changes with the teams splitting between the Legend and the Rise groups.

However, since it is a single split, there are no playoffs before the Mid-Season Invitational. Instead, a separate gauntlet determines the LCK representatives, Road to MSI.

Road to MSI grants two ways of qualifying for the Mid-Season Invitational. First, the Seeds #1 and #2 from LCK Rounds 1-2 play one best-of-five, and the winner goes to MSI as Korea’s first seed.

Then, Seeds #3 to #6 play in a King of the Hill gauntlet in three matches. The team that comes out of it faces the loser of the first qualifier. Finally, the winner of that match becomes the LCK’s second seed at MSI. Until then, stay tuned for LCK odds and predictions!
