Natus Vincere sweep GamerLegion to win IEM Atlanta 2026, claiming their second title of 2026, besting Vitality in the process.

The international roster cemented themselves as one of the best CS2 teams in the world and one of the main challengers for the IEM Cologne Major trophy.

Here’s how it all went down at IEM Atlanta 2026.

Despite a troublesome 2025, NAVI are still a team full of winners with a lot of experience in high-pressure situations and arena matches. This experience really shone through in their grand final game against GamerLegion.

As most people expected, the ESL Pro League Season 23 champions simply outclassed their opponents on the first two maps, with Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy and Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov doing the bulk of the work. However, things changed on Nuke.

After a close first half, GamerLegion put up a strong CT side, which put them on map point, with a 12-7 scoreline. Despite the deficit, the NAVI players did not give up, but they dug deep and clawed their way back all the way to overtime, eventually coming out on top 16-13.

While each member of NAVI’s roster deserves their praise, w0nderful’s IEM Atlanta 2026 performance was the most memorable. The Ukrainian AWPer has ascended into elite status, right behind the best CS2 players like Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.

What’s most impressive about w0nderful’s IEM Atlanta showing was his consistency. No matter the opponent, the sniper performed equally well, sometimes even better, against the very best opposition, i.e., Vitality.

Vitality no longer immortal

NAVI finally managed to do what no other team could since BLAST Bounty 2026, which is beat Vitality in the playoffs of a tournament. Their quarterfinal victory also ended Vitality’s streak of 21 straight top-four finishes in a row.

Not only did NAVI defeat Vitality, but they did it in style. After losing the first map 13-11, everyone thought it was going to be the same old story, but NAVI had other plans. Despite falling behind in the series, Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen led his teammates to a 13-11 victory on Anubis, forcing out the decider.

Inferno was the w0nderful show. It didn’t matter if Vitality tried to take control of Banana or execute into either site, w0nderful was always in place to stop the assault with his sharp AWP skills. Three rounds were all Vitality could muster before they got eliminated from the competition.

Everything is up for grabs at the Major

With NAVI claiming the IEM Atlanta 2026 title on a run that included a spectacular victory over Vitality, the IEM Cologne Major conversation suddenly got much more interesting.

While Vitality are certainly still the CS2 odds favorites to take home their third Major title in a row, the Bees winning doesn’t feel like a complete lock anymore. After all, NAVI proved that they aren’t invincible.

However, it’s important to note that the Vitality players were very outspoken about not practicing before both BLAST Rivals Season 1, which they won, and IEM Atlanta 2026, to rest before the Major grind.

Nevertheless, with NAVI’s victory over Vitality, the whole field got a well-needed confidence boost and reassurance that taking down the champs is not an impossible feat.
