Esports organization OG has announced a strategic partnership with bookmaker Melbet to expand both company’s reach.

Announced on Dec. 11 by release, the collaboration will reportedly mark “a pivotal moment in OG’s expansion,” as the company evolves with its recently acquired Southeast Asia roster Dota 2 team.

OG joins forces with Melbet for SEA collaboration

The partnership will see Melbet become a jersey sponsor for OG, while collaborating to create content, tournament coverage, features, community engagement, and explore OG’s storied history and exciting future.

Xavier Oswald, CEO, OG Esports had the following to say about the collaboration:

“Partnering with Melbet is a powerful step in our long-term commitment to the SEA region. Together, we’re not just showing up on stage, we’re investing in developing and supporting Southeast Asian talents, both in-game and behind the scenes. SEA is one of the beating hearts of esports, and with Melbet at our side, we want to give local players, creators, and fans the platform they deserve.”

Andrey S., head of sponsorships at Melbet, also weighed in:

“OG’s expansion into Southeast Asia is one of the most significant developments in today’s Dota 2 landscape. Their global prestige combined with a Filipino roster creates a powerful intersection of legacy and rising regional talent. Melbet is proud to support OG as they begin this new era and connect with millions of fans across Southeast Asia and beyond.”

OG has certainly kicked off their new SEA era in tremendous style. After announcing the roster in November, the all-Filipino roster had an impressive showing in PGL Wallachia Season 6 and BLAST Slam V. At the time of writing, they’re undefeated in the group stages of DreamLeague Season 27.

Melbet is an online gambling site, established in 2013. The company has recently expanded its esports and digital sports culture footprint with a series of strategic partnerships and innovative fan engagement initiatives.
