MOUZ upsets Team Spirit to win PGL Wallachia Season 6

MOUZ has defeated Team Spirit in the grand finals of PGL Wallachia Season 6 to put a stamp on a dramatic tournament that saw the team perform far beyond expectations.

In a hard fought grand finals, MOUZ were pushed to the limit by Spirit, but were ultimately triumphant, taking down their opponents 3-2 in a surprise finish. Here’s how it went down.

MOUZ beats Spirit 3-2 in PGL Wallachia Season 6 Grand Finals

Things looked shaky initially for MOUZ, who dropped game one with a draft that had few highpoints. The Naga Siren, the Tidehunter, and Troll Warlord just didn’t seem to be effective against Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk’s unstoppable Drow Ranger.

But with the second game, on of MOUZ’s signatures this tournament came to light: Their incredible laning phase. The team hs been dominant in lane, and more often than not transferred that early success into victory. That’s precisely what MOUZ were able to do for Game two and three, as they quickly moved the game onto match point.

But Team Spirit wouldn’t go down quietly. Allowing some of the their opponent’s standout picks, like Oleh “kaori” Medvedok, to slip through the draft, they were still able to best them, putting them into a crucial, winner-takes-all final.

With one game remaining, MOUZ’s dominant laning once again became the key to victory. This time with Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan on Timbersaw, Spirit struggled to combat his early lane dominance and then late game invulnerability – Spirit just had to expend too much to kill the Timber. This was really the final blow for Spirit, who were toppled by MOUZ.

For MOUZ, this marks not only their first tournament victory, but their first Tier 1 victory since their restart in Dota 2 in 2024. The team takes home $300,000, and likely a direct invite to next year’s PGL Wallachia events. Spirit claims a respectable $175,000 chunk of the prize pool.

Speaking after the game, MOUZ midlaner Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng shared his opinion on the win with Jake “SirActionSlacks” Tanner:

“I feel great, my teammates carried me” said Midone.
