SUPERPOWER Valorant anthem

The Valorant Champions 2024 song is here, and esports fans have mixed reviews.

Every year, Riot releases a commemorative song for Valorant Champions, and 2024 is no different. This time around, the song is called “SUPERPOWER” and features Kiss of Life and Mark Tuan. The blend of pop and rap plays over dramatic comic book-style imagery of popular agents in challenging situations. Fans have generally responded positively to the new anthem, but not everyone is happy.

Here are the lyrics for and artists behind the Valorant Champions 2024 song and why some fans are confused about the title.

Who are Kiss of Life and Mark Tuan?

Kiss of Life is a girl group from South Korea that formed in 2023. It features four female artists all with their own distinct styles. Their songs blend pop, dance, and rap together to create powerhouse tracks like “Nothing” that get millions of views.

Mark Tuan is a rapper and singer from a South Korean boy band Got7 who became big in the United States as a solo artist. His hit songs from the last few years include “Last Breath,” “Lonely,” and “imysm.”

SUPERPOWER lyrics

SUPERPOWER is a song all about getting back up when you’re knocked down, proving itself as an intense underdog anthem. A lot of the lyrics revolve around taking chances even if they seem tough and getting fueled by failure.

If I nevеr leap, I’ll never fly

Plead or sacrifice

Fight until the final hour

Pain is my superpower

Despite the strong messaging, a lot of Valorant fans responded with mixed feelings about the new anthem. A lot of VCT viewers, and potential Champions skin bundle buyers, felt that the previous few years had better songs but felt SUPERPOWER was sufficient enough.

Still, it has over 185,000 views in the past two hours so opinions are continuing to come in.

Did Valorant change the 2024 Champions song?

Previously, Riot’s hints at the upcoming anthem had it called “SUPERNOVA” instead of “SUPERPOWER.” Some players noticed this name change upon the song’s arrival.

It’s unclear why the name was changed but fans believe that it could be due to some confusion over using SUPERNOVA when it’s also the name of a Korean boy band as well as a song title by Korean girl group aespa, which came out earlier this year.

Whether you loved or disliked the 2024 Valorant Champions song, one thing is for sure: you’ll enjoy revisiting your 2024 Valorant Flashback.
