After over a year of waiting, fans of the Netflix series Dota: Dragon’s Blood wonder if the Valve MOBA’s adaption will get a Season 4.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood, the animated Netflix series based on Valve’s popular MOBA of the same name might not be as popular as Arcane, but it still has a dedicated fanbase. With three seasons, Dragon’s Blood is one of the few successful video game adaptations that stays faithful to the source material while adding its unique twists. However, as it’s been over a year since the last season came out, fans wonder if Dota: Dragon’s Blood will get a fourth season.

Book 3 established some incomplete plotlines and fans wonder if a fourth season will give the show a definitive conclusion.

Will Dota: Dragon’s Blood get a fourth season?

It’s unknown if Dota: Dragon’s Blood will get a season 4 or if season 3 was the series’ conclusion.

The first three books had Dragon Knight Davion as a titular character. Fans followed him for most of the series, from his initial merging with Slyrak to his death fighting Terrorblade. While a major character returning after death wouldn’t be new for Dragon’s Blood, some fans believe this conclusion to Davion and the series is satisfying enough.

On the other hand, one might argue that Moon Princess Mirana was the real lead of the series, something the lead writer agrees with. As Mirana is safe and sound, and season 3 alluded that she may be pregnant with Davion’s child, there may still be more in store for the show.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood Season 4 release date

Netflix has not given any information about whether Dota: Dragon’s Blood will get a Season 4 or when it’ll come out.

The first three seasons were released within a year of each other, but it has been way more than that since the third season came out. Arcane’s second season is slated to be released in November 2024, and the higher-ups might want to avoid competition from the more popular League of Legends adaptation.

On the other hand, the producing studio Studio Mir is also working on animating My Adventures with Superman, the Devil May Cry animated series, and the incredibly popular X-Men ‘97. Work on the X-Men series’ second season had reportedly begun by July 2022, just a month before Dota: Dragon’s Blood Season 3 came out. While it’s unknown when the Devil May Cry series will debut, Studio Mir is slated to produce and animate it, no doubt limiting the studio’s resources and time.

If a fourth season for Dota: Dragon’s Blood gets green-lit, it might be a while until it hits Netflix.
