Knowing the correct map callouts for Dust 2 is pivotal for team coordination and communication in CS2.

Dust 2 remains the most played map in 2024 despite getting only minor graphics and lighting updates for Counter-Strike 2. While it is one of the easier maps in the game with its straightforward design, there are a considerable number of callouts. Dust 2 is a favorite for both new players and experienced veterans alike, which makes it a great place to start learning. All it takes is a few rounds in Dust 2 for players to learn the general locations. However, the basics can only get a player so far.

There are close to 50 different callouts on this map alone and knowing them could be the difference between winning and losing a round.

Dust 2 callouts on the actual map

The original map callouts for Dust 2 were limited to the main areas on the map, so players had to come up with additional designations for the smaller locations.

Nowadays, nearly every corner and turn on the map has a universal name that is being used at all competitive levels. From a beginner’s point of view, the first few Dust 2 callouts players learn are Mid, Long, Pit, Short, and Upper/Lower Tunnels. Knowing these is enough to give basic information to your teammates but it will not be enough to pinpoint the exact positions of the enemy team.

Dust 2 A site and B site have special callouts

The map above illustrates the most common callouts for each spot on Dust 2 A site and B site.

Take suicide as an example. In some corners of the world, it is also known as dark. Another example is the structure shown as long doors on the map. Players often call it box as it is shorter and easier. Right next to long doors is a spot described as blue, but players often refer to it as blue box.

Looking at B site, multiple callouts have at least a couple of names. The spot right next to B window known as scaffolding is often called platform.

Back plat in the upper right corner is sometimes called dark just like suicide. Furthermore, players typically refer to the little gap on the right side of B back site as under window.

Heading towards A, the original map above shows only the default plant position between the boxes on the site. There are, however, multiple callouts for Dust 2 for different A site bomb plants.

Knowing the exact location of the plant is often crucial for both terrorists and counter-terrorists as it provides key information about the possible positions of the remaining players in the round. While the main map callouts for Dust 2 are enough to play the game and know the general positions of players, being able to communicate the exact locations of the enemies is a difference-maker in Counter-Strike 2.
