Who’s Who in ESL Pro League Season 24 Playoffs | Preview and Predictions

ESL Pro League Season 24 group stage is all done and dusted. We finally know all 8 playoff contestants and, most importantly, the 4 best teams are still in it.

We have a spectacular match right off the bat, with Falcons going up against Spirit in what’s bound to be the best quarterfinal clash this Friday.

ESL Pro League S24 playoffs format and schedule

As mentioned in the intro, the prestigious Katowice event continues this Friday with four quarterfinal clashes. As for the format, all quarterfinals and semifinals are best-of-three, while the grand final is scheduled for a best-of-five clash. The schedule is as follows:

To Reach the Finals

According to to reach the finals odds, Team Vitality is the strongest candidate, which isn’t surprising considering the fact that their portion of the playoffs is slightly easier than those of Falcons, Spirit, and MOUZ.

ESL Pro League S24 Predictions

We’ve had several group stage surprises. The most notable ones are the eliminations of NaVi and G2 Esports, which came as a surprise to many CS2 fans out there.

The biggest positive surprise was definitely 1w Team. After losing their opener against Vitality, they went on a 3-match winning streak, beating 3 giants in the process: G2, Legacy, and Spirit. The latter was a proper eye-opener, with 1w allowing Spirit just 5 rounds on Cache and 9 on Anubis, reaching a clean 2:0 win.

Despite these surprises, we predict one of the following four teams will lift the ESL Pro League S24 trophy this Sunday.

Vitality

If we’re judging by the group stage performance alone, Vitality is the shoo-in favorite to win the ESL Pro League Season 24. They took down the event’s biggest surprise without dropping a round, then went on to beat NaVi and Falcons to clinch the playoffs without a single loss.

Surprisingly enough, ropz and flameZ are leading the charge. Yes, ZywOo has had the best K/D ratio in the group stage, but we have to give credit where it’s due, and Vitality’s 3:0 group stage run was mostly thanks to ropz’s and flameZ’s brilliant reactions and clutch potential.

Falcons

Falcons also looked quite good in the group stage. Granted, they did lose to Vitality in the third high round, but that 13:8 loss on Mirage was much closer than the final result suggests.

NiKo is in excellent form, nearly driving the team to a clean 2:0 win against NaVi. m0NESY has been good too, but he’ll need to be more consistent if Falcons are to push Spirit out of the semifinals.

Spirit

Despite a shaky 3:2 group stage run, you can never count Team Spirit out of the equation. Yes, that loss against 1w was pretty alarming, but donk and co managed to get right back up and secure playoffs with a 2:0 sweep against M80.

Now they’re up against Falcons in what’s a do-or-die for both teams. It’s definitely the most interesting quarterfinals clash, one that’s likely going to go to the third map. At 2.35, you have to fancy the value here.

MOUZ

Let’s not forget about MOUZ. Even though they haven’t been at their best lately, apart from that title-winning run at BLAST Bounty Summer, their 3:0 group stage run made them look quite frightening.

M80, FURIA, and Team Spirit felt their wrath, that’s for sure. Mind you, MOUZ didn’t lose a single map across three matches, with torzsi and Spinx showing off their best forms.

They’re set for a rematch against FURIA in the quarterfinals. Should they advance, and everything suggests so, they’ll go up against the winner of Falcons vs. Spirit.
