1. Gen.G, the reigning champions
Gen.G was the undisputed best team at any tournament not named Worlds. Then, they barely missed MSI 2026 due to a 2-3 match against T1. At EWC, they look to be a rival to HLE and to BLG.
Except that they have the advantage of being well-rested and well-prepared. These two teams, on the other hand, had exactly two days between an MSI in Korea and the EWC in France.
2. Hanwha Life Esports, crowned at MSI
Hanwha Life won MSI just three days ago. HLE had two days of poor showings, but they were a formidable opponent the rest of the time. This could cost them in such a fast tournament, and the fatigue will take its toll. Otherwise, they’re a very oppressive team who fights all the time and gets the outcome they want.

3. Bilibili Gaming, off the Golden Road
BLG was the best team in the world for all but one series this year. Bilibili Gaming is very similar to HLE in terms of level, results, craziness, and risk of exhaustion. However, their strength lies in their line-up of incredibly high-skilled players. Zhuo “Knight” Ding makes a serious case for being the current best player in the world, and the rest of the roster isn’t afraid of anyone either.
4. T1, the World Champions
T1 needs no introduction. Though they only reach their full strength at Worlds, they remain a serious contender. At MSI, their run was cut short by G2 and they should be weaker than Gen.G, HLE, and BLG.
That said, in a format with mostly Bo3s and a single elimination bracket, they have a real chance at not only placing higher than some of them, but also winning the whole thing.

5. G2 Esports, the giant slayers
G2 has no real place to belong on that tier list. This year, they beat four of the best teams in the world. In the same breath, they were stomped by BLG and HLE, but also by LYON.
G2 is the undisputed best Western team when it comes to beating the East. This year, they have a series score of 4-3 against China and Korea. However, in their ability to punch up, they forget how to strike in front of them, and they can lose to absolutely anyone.
6. Anyone’s Legend, in the shadow of BLG
The best teams in the LPL are all inconsistent. In Split 2, it was Top Esports who showed up strong before once again crumbling at the next international. With BLG being the big name to talk about from China, all other teams remained in their shadow.
However, AL showed at Worlds 2025 that their peak is among the best. If they find their form again, they will reach the semis or above – but that’s an if.
7. JD Gaming, rounding out the LPL
Following a similar story as AL, JD Gaming is the other LPL powerhouse. With very defined strengths and weaknesses, they are likely the best teamfighting team in the world.
JDG plays in the scariest group, with HLE and LYON. The former should win against them, the latter could. Their style gives them an advantage over NA, but their run could end before the playoffs.
8. LYON, the best American team
At MSI, LYON showed the best performances out of North America, despite still not going far enough. NA’s representative will sweep away any top team that disrespects them or is in a slump. On the other hand, they will most likely fall to HLE and JDG in groups.

9. Dplus KIA, the LCK’s surprise
DK is the most beatable LCK team the international stage has seen in a long time. A clear step below the other three, they are shaky for Korean standards. However, those Korean standards are still far above most of what the West has to offer.
Stuck in a group with AL and G2, they should also fall here. Then again, DK is a team that could surprise G2.
10. Team Secret Whales, the return of the Oysters
After an entirely underwhelming start to the year, TSW told the world they were here to play by beating Top Esports. It might have just been TES being TES, but they showed that the LCP has fire in them still. The Whales have a real chance of making it out of their group.
11. Karmine Corp, seeking redemption
KC wasn’t expected to go far at MSI, but they utterly disappointed still. If they rise back to their LEC level, they’ll beat Sentinels and Team Secret Whales. If they show the performance they did at MSI, they’ll end up third or fourth in their group.

12. Movistar KOI, the youngest sibling
MKOI is traditionally a rival to G2 and KC in Europe. This year, they mostly feel like the spectator to their duel. MKOI can hope to pull a miracle against T1 in a Bo1, but they’re more often seen choking on the international stage. Movistar KOI’s strongest hope is to bet on BLG being too jetlagged.
13. Sentinels, playing spoilers
SEN is a solid fifth place team in the LCS. Realistically speaking, they shouldn’t stand a chance. Luckily, they’re facing TSW and KC who could both have major underperformances. Quarterfinals is their biggest goal, though.
14. FURIA, uncontrolled chaos
FURIA’s one mission in this tournament is to knock down G2, which they just might. G2 doesn’t know how to face weaker teams, and FUR can keep up the pace. Against AL and DK though, they’re cooked.

15. GAM Esports, to save the marbles
Realistically, GAM stands no chance against their opponents. The LCP’s second seed could upset one win against MKOI. Doing so would eliminate them, but they still wouldn’t qualify afterwards.
16. LØS, in the group of death
Not only is LØS the weakest team at the tournament, they’re also playing against the potential strongest group. Reaching the playoffs would be a miracle.
