To set things straight, Gen.G is a far better team than KC. The LCK representative had a surprising early exit at First Stand 2026 followed by a low regional Spring Split. This is all according to their standards, though. Both of these surprising finishes were still third places.

Through the entire Rounds 1-2 in the LCK, Gen.G stood toe to toe with Hanwha Life Esports, KT Rolster, and T1. The World champions barely pushed them out of MSI contention, but their level is none the lower.

On the other side of the Rift, Karmine Corp was a strong team regionally. Second only to G2, they even kept taking them to five games. Arriving at MSI though, it all fell apart.

A 0-3 against T1 meant that the hopes for this team were misplaced. Another 0-3 this time against Team Liquid meant that they are not realizing their potential at all. Now, they’re up against a team that’s potentially stronger than T1.

Stylistically, this might actually be a good match for Europe. Gen.G has a slow and more methodical playstyle than T1, HLE, or Bilibili Gaming. KC likes to stem the bleeding in lane, then rely on excellent teamfighting to take back control over the game. Gen.G could leave them enough room to do that.

Could, and likely won’t. Gen.G’s laners are on a whole other level than what KC faces in the LEC. What should happen is that they’ll get an early lead, and will not give Karmine the possibility of setting up for good fights.
