When they met up at MSI, the two teams had an explosive series that took the record for most kills per game in a Bo5. Averaging 40 kills per game, both line-ups fought their way through that match. However, they fought it towards a decisive T1 3-0 victory.

It wasn’t even from T1 stomping the lane, in most cases. The match ended up a back-and-forth, but where KC would ultimately always fail at a crucial moment. One Karmine Corp player would hold a lead, and he would misplay it and fully open the way for T1.

With a couple of days since that tournament, the form of the teams has changed. Both of them have had a rough group stage. KC was shaky against Team Secret, and T1 was no better against GAM Esports. Both teams gave the LCP representatives way too much room to play for the relative levels of the regions.

For them both though, things took a turn for the better in the quarterfinals. T1 crushed the MSI winner Hanwha Life Esports who always had their number as of late.

As for KC, they 2-0’d Anyone’s Legend and showed a much better form. The players stated that they worked on their mid game, and it shows. This will certainly help them a lot against T1; however, Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun has also stepped up for them.

Lastly, teams are now fully embracing the bot lane mage meta that started during MSI. Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan is an experienced Mel and Ziggs player, with his support happy to roam to let him level up. On the other hand, Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert is only now starting to play those picks.
