Upper bracket final: G2 vs KC, FR
The League of Legends EMEA Championship has a rematch of the Spring and Winter finals for its Summer upper final. Of the four times that Karmine Corp and G2 Esports have faced off in playoff matches, G2 has won each one of them.
However, the finals were both close. Ending in 3-2, a singular slip-up could have turned the tides for either of them, and there’s no telling that slip-up won’t happen today.
This split again, Karmine Corp heads into this match-up as the theoretical favorites. KC went 9-0 in the regular season, the first undefeated team since Fnatic in 2015. Additionally, they’re the only European team capable of cleanly closing out games. Even G2 still regularly throws theirs.
The problem is that KC had this same advantage in Winter and Spring. None of this stopped G2 from winning then, so what’s to stop them this time? KC looks stronger and G2 shakier, but the LEC Summer Split upper final remain up for grabs.
